Here's the thing guys (trying to be the reasonable voice one last time)

Don't get too wrapped up in the whole "mystery candidate being Gruden" theory. There is a chance that could be the most epic smokescreen in history where he is concerned, but what are the chances? That we are still talking to Pruitt for DC and Tee as OC to avoid having Gruden contact them directly? Common sense says if Gruden wanted to talk to them, a simple phone call would suffice.

If anything, someone expressed interest in the position at some point yesterday that hasn't been previously discussed in the news. And it's unknown who that is, but it's probably not Gruden. Let's see how this thing unfolds and hope this name is "splashy" enough to appease the majority of the fan base, boosters and UT Admin.

GV, I’ve enjoyed getting to “know” you over the past couple of months. I’ll create that OG thread for us as soon as a coach takes the podium.

As far as the search goes, I’ve resigned that it’s over for Gruden. No more smokescreens, cloke and dagger stories or insider stories. Phil conducted this search like a traditional AD and the names we’ve heard are exactly who he’s talking to. I don’t believe for a second that he tried to land a major hire. I believe he did meet with Gruden and Gruden said no. Nothing we can do about it. Currie screwed us and left Phil scrambling. I’d like to have seen what Phil could’ve done from the beginning. I think he may have went after David Shaw. He plays Fulmer football. Anyway, we will know in 4-5 years when we have to do this all over again. Jmo...

This is a tweet from before the leaks about Pruitt. But yeah, nothings 100% when we are talking about our coaching search. I just have a strong suspicion from the information at hand, it’s Pruitt.

He’s always been in here. He was trying to dethrone Currie at first and it seemed he wanted to squash the grumors because anytime anyone would post them, he would shoot them down.

I’ll play along...even though my meter broke last night. He said he wouldn’t comment on the coaching search. The gif is his way to “not comment” on the coaching search. I also agree with SFD, he posted it in this thread for a reason and came in this thread from the get go for a reason. He knows who everyone wants, that’s no secret. Now, you have to decide...do you trust PV or not? There’s no harm in not trusting him, because literally everyone is batting .000 currently. With all that being said, I don’t feel very confident at this point. However, it’s not over until someone hits the podium...

This thread and ideas like the above begin to smell more and more like a retread of the old CB radio craze. All the friendliness, flirting, great handles, great conversations and camaraderie, work super until a group meets face to face. Lots of awkward pauses, missing teeth, belly rolls, bald heads, and bad tattoos are the bulk of who shows up ... and that's just the chicks. Trust Tngirl, you want that element of mystery to continue, reality bites.
