I’m ok with Pruitt if he brings tee with him. Pruitt by himself is just meh.

I don't think Tee is coming if it's Pruitt. On SwainEvent this morning, Chris Low said Tee would consider coming as OC under the right situation ... but really talked up how much Tee is loving his life out in Southern California. Made it seem like Tee is pretty good where he is, unless an offer comes along that he can't refuse.

Honestly, I think it would be dumb for Tee to come as OC to Pruitt.

Trey Wallace said the ship has sailed on Gruden. He has no idea just like any of the other reports. And for the record, reporters can get paid not to mention something. Like, if they know what is really happening.

The mystery guy is just that, who do you think he is..

You've given me a bit of hope. I refuse to believe this was all for Pruitt as our HC. Might as while stay aboard till it's not.

Smart went back home to GA and he is who the fans desperately wanted.

Pruitt is not going "home" to TN and he is certainly NOT who the fans wanted.

This makes all the difference in the world.

The fans needed who they wanted. (That's the key to all of this)

Huge difference in the state of the program too.

Georgia's roster was stocked and the program was in overall good shape. Only required tweaking to his style and processes.

Tennessee's roster is not stocked and the program and supporting administration is a mess.

To all the people who are saying the coach has to have HC experience think about his.

1. Fulmer wasn't a head coach.
2. Mark Richt wasn't a head coach.
3. Jimbo Fisher wasn't a head coach.
4. Bob Stoops wasn't a head coach.
5. Dabo Swinney wasn't even a coordinator.
6. Kirby Smart wasn't a head coach.
7. Lincoln Riley wasn't a head coach.

The list goes on 3 of those 4 are in the Playoff.

Ill make my point after some stats:

1. Fulmer==Took over mid way through 1992.
1992 record 9-3 (5-3)
1991 record 9-3 (5-3)

2. Richt==Took over 2001
2000 record 8-4 (5-3)

3. Jimbo==Took over in 2010
2009 record 7-6 (4-4)

4. Stoops==Took over 1999
1998 record 5-6 (3-5)

5. Dabo==Took over 2008
2007 record 9-4 (5-3)

6. Smart==Took over 2016
2015 record 10-3 (5-3)

7. Riley==Took over 2017
2016 record 11-2 (9-0)

Here's my point and why everyone has a hard time with it...Every single coach (aside from maybe Stoops) inherited pretty decent teams. Not supernova undefeated teams, but decent ones. Its easy to take a chance when your on top. We are not on the top, the middle, or even the bottom. We are 0-8 in the SEC!! 0-8!! We needed a spark not a fizzle at this point in time.

That is why i believe everyone is having a hard time with this hire if true. IMHO

After giving it some thought this morning, and all the gloom and doom that's going on around here today, maybe we do need an up and comer coordinator. Not saying Pruitt or Tee are the guys, but our last 3 HC's were previous HC's, not at P5 schools, but still HC's.

Now a P5 established coordinator, that has been one for a while, and has had great results and can recruit their butt off, could be a good option. Venables type of coordinator, not saying just him, but someone along those lines.

Gruden knows he could come here, its not a secret. I hope he is the secret candidate, but its not really a secret. Who knows who it will be? Lets wait for the presser and see who is trotted out, maybe we will be pleasantly surprised, maybe we wont. One thing is for sure though, all this negativity around our beloved football program/forum isn't helping the situation at all. Its putting me in a bad mood. There is enough negativity and depression where I am right now. I havnt seen sunlight in over a month! Plus its cold as sh** up here. I need some positivity! Hell we all do.

You disparage anyone who doesn't post pro-Gruden bs yet you believe without a shadow of a doubt posters who have proven time and again that they are either wrong, making it up, or are given fantasy information just to mess with them? There is no justifiable logic to drag out the announcement of Gruden as head coach other than some ill-conceived conspiracy theory hatched on Volnation. I hope that Gruden is announced. It would be great for UT football but when a small group of anonymous posters are the only "legit" sources of information it is a bit puzzling.

Not crazy about Steele, but this is the only combo with Tee that I see working (that doesn't include a Gruden). Steele is old -- giving Tee the upside potential for when he retires.

And Steele's a TN guy.
