Hell bang all your co-eds and secretaries but if you can keep that on the down low he will recruit the hell out of the south and put together a goon squad. If he can hire a good OC he will kill it.
He had me at goon squad 😍
Something is weird concerning Miles. It's kinda like when UT fired Phil, it was almost as if he was "black balled" around the country.
I don't know if that is the reason behind schools staying away from Miles but something is wrong.
Maybe his age is a determining factor? But the guy won a natty and had a string of pretty damn good seasons. If he was able to develop a QB, he would still be there.
Who could we hire at this point? All the options suck. Some just suck less. Were lost 4 of the last 6 to Vandy. No big name coach is busting down the door to coach here. Were a train wreck and everyone knows except for our own fans.
No big time coaches wanted the job. Yes there was the Leach talk but that would have required us to have John Currie leading the AD and I would rather have Fulmer doing that. Currie was an arrogant a$$ and Im not totally sold he would have gotten leach. Why did he wait so long to call him? Why does the legend Bill Snyder despise him? Why did he run off frank Martin? Sure Currie may have brought Leach in but Leach May have quickly grown to hate him just like every other coach that has had to deal with Currie.
Tee is far more than a consolation. Hes one of if not the best recruiter in the country. Steele is 60 years old. Maybe he coaches for 5 years and Tee takes over once hes experienced. I think that could actually work out really well.
Steeles record at Baylor doesnt mean too much to me. Tennessee is a different caliber of job where he can hire ace staff members and recruit really well. But hes going to have to be allowed to prove he can do that. If the fans dont support him then he will definitely fail. Im willing to trust Fulmer and his hire and give it a couple years. BUT thats all contingent on the staff he surrounds himself with.
A Bammer who was basically fired from UGA for being a cancer on their staff? I know he has a reputation of being a really good recruiter and a solid defensive coach, but I just can't get excited about that at all.
I think the cross over with Bama gives us the worst league schedule in the conference. Puts us at a disadvantage in our division and then you might have to beat Bama twice. Auburn had to beat UGA twice this year...
