Hard to read into NFL rankings, in the NFL if you don't have the right players it doesn't really matter how good of a DC you are. Gotta have the horses.

So you're saying he can't coach them up or outscheme opponents? Oh, goody.

I can't imagine the boosters are pleased about this either. Going all in on Gruden has really hurt us in this search. I hope he is never mentioned again when we are looking for a head coach. And Haslam and Currie threw gasoline on the mess last week. Just hire Tucker and let's move forward can't take this crap much longer.

I've not been told he's the frontrunner. Just like I was told today that Tucker and Steele weren't the two finalists.

That's what I was told. It might be that they are.

Steele might end up being the hire. With a second interview in New York today, Steele has had more conversations with Tennessee people than any candidate throughout this search.

I think Leach may be on the Autism Spectrum, my son is and after watching some of his videos I can definitely see it being the case.

I would love to have him as a coach. The players say he is calm in very stressful situations and he can flat out coach.

Absolutely the man can coach. Yes he says some weird stuff sometimes but I think a lot of it is just to be a ham.

He's a really smart dude. If I'm not mistaken he's also a lawyer and represents himself in the TTU case.

Dan Quinn is supposedly a top DC in the NFL and the Falcons ranked 30th in defense last year. You have to have players. The Patriots are 28th in total defense right now with Belichick.

"Heupel is the 9th former Mike Leach player or assitant to land a FBS head coaching job."

:cray:

It would be nice to have a head coach that actually groomed assistants for head coaching jobs. We haven't had that since at least Majors, and I wasn't old enough then to know the difference.

Homerism is as bad as Haslam making picks-- hopefully Phil realizes this. Currie did his best work when he went rogue. (obviously nobody liked Brohm or Leach)

I will wait for the podium but it doesn't look good.
