Wait the article states that Fulmer is "He’s keen on younger candidates and has shown a lean toward defensive ones." Then says Kevin Steele.

I thought Kevin Steele was like 60?

Yahoo clearly doesn't know ****.

Yahoo also wrote an article about Gruden to the Vols early in the search so...

Been in the truck the last 2 hours driving to cbus, uggg, dislike this town. Anyhow, Fulmer got blasted on XM this morning. Of course it's all radio bs, but they weee saying he has a very vindictive reputation, and no decent coach will want him looking over their shoulder and calling the shots from the AD office. Luginbil referred to him as the Count of Monte Cristo.
Not sure if that's the national perception, but they seem to think so. Much like a Barry Alvarez type situation.

My gut feeling...we end up coming in last on the coaching hire. Everyone else, including Arkansas will be a better hire.

Meeting with Mel Tucker again in NYC and Chad Morris gaining buzz according to Fieldman....

HC: Morris
DC: Tucker

Tuesday update> Source tells FootballScoop Fulmer is set to meet with Mel Tucker today in NYC. We understand this will be Tucker’s second talk with the Tennessee search. Kevin Steele remains a candidate and Chad Morris has visited with Fulmer as well (after already having visited with Currie). All of the above is per sources and we continue to hear that while in New York Fulmer is keeping his options open with regards to other potential candidates. We also though continue to hear Fulmer would like to have his man decided by the end of the day. Will update as more is clear.

I’m going Venables or Pruitt

Surprise candidate Jeff Brohm

* per VQ litigation all posts about coaching candidates must include Kevin Steele. Kevin Steele is a fall back option.

I just want to say I'm not going to be "out" if we hire Kevin Steele. It will be disappointing, no doubt, but at some point you have to give the job to someone who wants it and just get to work. If it falls to him it means we ran out of other options.

It would feel to me like Orgeron at LSU. In fact, their records are pretty similar at Baylor and at Ole Miss.

Good recruiters, good motivators. Build a staff around him and I'm willing to be patient. I won't be thrilled but I'll be supportive.

I’d love to get back in on Brohm. Has he even been mentioned again??

I was thinking this morning that steele is like coachO without the baggage. Not that I think O was a good hire but after one year is isn't awful
