You guys are just making way to much out of this.

The only way it's Steele as HC is if Venables, Morris and Pruitt turn us down. Even at that, I think PF would put Mel above Steele.

Yeah, when Hubbs says Steele is "a real possibility," that's a massive, massive tell.

He also said he is not the front runner. He said that definitively. So reading into that I think Hubbs is saying that we would have to be turned down to end up with Steele but it also sounds like Hubbs thinks that is definitely possible as well.

Scary.

That’s actually a really logical theory. I kind of thought that might be what was happening last week when Currie had Leach but Bev wouldn’t allow it. Seemed like maybe they actually did have Brohm wrapped up and were waiting for the buyout to drop/get rid of Currie as well.

But like I said after the Schiano mess I’m never doubting Hubbs again. Unless he changes his tune today I’m 100% expecting Kevin Steele to be the new HC.

First, what do you mean you’re never doubting Hubbs after the Schiano mess? Secondly, the bolded would be terribly disappointing.

Semi-Baseless Conspiracy Theory:

It’s Brohm and it’s been Brohm for a while. But Bev, boosters, Phil, and and others knew they were going to take Currie down pretty much since the Schiano thing.

Hyams really was on to something. But Brohm’s buyout dropping along with the coup happening lead to nothing officially coming from that.

Currie could tell something was up, so he tried to go get his guy in Leach. It was easy for administrators to turn Leach down because Phil and Brohm already had a handshake agreement in place for this week.

Other interviews this week have been for show and/or for Phil to pick some top defensive minds about what kind of defensive staff to give Brohm.

Genuine question: does Hubbs ever talk about candidates as being front runners? I honestly can't remember.

It's hard to imagine how this thing could have gone any worse.

I'd take Venables over Pruitt. The only thing that bothers me about Pruitt is he's a Bama guy to the core. I have no doubt he'd bring a great staff and recruit on an elite level though. I'd be on board.

I know you are all in on Les/Tee as am I and others- it was on the rock too! What happened on Sunday because that was really going strong and then it hit a wall. Did Miles not interview well? Did something come up in his past like the Oklahoma State investigation? SBV said he thought it was Miles and then an hour or less later, no it's Steele? Just want an answer to this.

Scary.

Neither Pruitt nor Morris are going to turn this job down if offered.
