Tee accomplished something Peyton could never do and he will never forgive him for it. Tee is about to eclipse Manning in Vol lore when he leads us to a national championship soon. The Mannings put on a good front but behind closed doors they are some nasty sons of *****es.
I took class with some of the football players in the 90's and the only time I saw them was on test day.
Yeah, but Ga Southern isn't Tennessee. See they hire football coaches based on merit and qualifications.
Facts are Tee played like crap the first half of the season in 98 but came around in the Ga game. The team won in spite of Tee until the Ga game. He also struggled in the Ark game but we know how that ended. In 1999, Tee played outstanding, frankly as good as any Tennessee about since but team was buried in jealousy and future plans.
It was obvious Peyton was blocking Tee from even getting an interview from us. I had a guy tell me several years ago that Peyton did not like Tee and then I hear Bassilio say that they've not liked each other since college. So that begs the question:
1) Is Peyton jealous?
2) Did Tee bang his wife?
3) Or does Peyton have no issue with Tee but just didn't think he was not qualified?

I would guess it hampers his first HC gig being s major P5 job for sure. I do believe he winds up at one eventually and would be cool as hell if its alma mater. But for a head coach I do think that would force him to bulk up his resume more first.
I would go with number 1. I've been saying all along that Peyton doesn't want Tee here because it'll hurt his stock with the fanbase. He's already taken a hit by backing Schiano and now it seems he's been on the side of the Haslams during all this mess. So this, coupled with the fact that Tee did everything in one year that Peyton couldn't do in four, minus a conference title (which again took Peyton four years to Tee's one year) hurts his ego. Thus, with all these things, imagine if Tee comes in and has huge success; he'll begin to eclipse Peyton in terms of fanfare and UT lore. Hence why Peyton doesn't want Tee here.
