If the other boosters not named Haslam are going to use a nuclear option would it not be best to keep it secret? It would also serve best to deny that possibility in MSM outlets and on Vol nation to catch them off guard. Kinda like they did on Sunday with Schiano.

The point of a nuclear option is to cause damage. That's about as blunt as it gets.

The problem is the threat of the option without ever going through it.

And as we've seen the past few days, Haslam is calling all their bluffs and daring someone to defy him.

It would appear no other booster has the stones to do it.

All I know is this, if I was a big booster and had that kind of money, and if I had any kind of info that might stop all this from happening, it would've already been in the hands of Trey Wallace, Clay Travis, Barrett Sallee, and Andy Staples, cause all four of those guys have shown they're on the side of the fans.

But, that's just me.

By "you," I assume you mean all of us here on VN. I certainly wouldn't expect you to contact me directly.

You supposedly have concrete details on the Gruden deal...dates, times, etc. All of that information could be used to right the ship. If Gruden cant'/won't speak up, we could. You refuse.

I understand and share everyone's frustration.

If the "source" is bound by the terms of a NDA, or conditions of employment, or attorney/client privilege then I could understand why UTVE can not disclose.

It still sucks that there is always a reason why we can't blow this shiz up.

IF (if if if if if) there is still any life in the possibility of Gruden, more news bombs could wreck it.

I realize that:

1 If you still think Gruden is in play, you don't want to hear that, and

2 If you don't think Gruden is still/ ever was in play, this is irrelevant.

But just keep in mind that there might be a reason for the continued secrecy...

I think we need to go back to the old days of no public political and religious talks, cause you've had some great posts in this thread. You're a good dude, and will try to enjoy any and all posts even the ones I disagree with by tempering that versus your normal day to day guy you probably are. Just wanted you to know even though not important.

Everyone will have to decide individually what their own nuclear option is. For me personally, it is what I mentioned earlier. If John Currie Hiers a coach, I will no longer support the University of Tennessee in any shape, manner or fashion, until the Haslam influence has been eliminated.

I dont believe the Haslam influence can be eliminated 100%.....I do believe he can be put into check and made to except a good AD not chosen by him.

Let me be more clear: Gruden won't work for John Currie/Haslam after what happened Sunday.

Then the boosters behind the movement should have used a reputable source to make that know a couple of weeks ago. Had they done so the pressure would have swollen to an extent the AD/Haslam would have had no choice in the matter.

You assume that Gruden would want it public. He may not for various reasons.

At the end of the day, the interests of the University should be the top priority of the administration. It would appear that is NOT the case. It would appear appeasing a booster is the top priority.

No one person (or family) should have that much power and influence over an entire university.

But unless you do something outside the status quo nothing will ever change.

I had a private conversation with knuck. He referenced his reaction to our conversation in a post here. People started calling him out over it, and I did not think that was fair. So I asked people to lay off of knuck for something that I had discussed with him. I did not bring the info on this board, and I will not.

CLAUSE: You are aloud to leave Purdue if some other university offers you a job after they stupidly pass on Gruden. Only then may you leave without a breach of contract.
