Official Jon Gruden Thread XLV

I have to ask, why can't folks just tweet and request that Gruden express his desire to coach for us given the right conditions IF, in fact, he has interest in the job? If there is even the slightest chance at this point and we are SO CLOSE to making another hire, what do we have to lose? Right?

Well. It's a big yawn although time will tell whether or not it was a good choice. UTAD will probably not recover from this fiasco for years. I'm going to take some time and digest this before making any declarations.

I said it many times yesterday: I put the information in hands where I believe it will do the most good, while also keeping peoples livelihoods safe.

And I get that, I respect it, not saying you'd be the one sending it to the media, maybe someone higher up.

But you really didn't answer my question lol

If you can't in a hypothetical kind of way answer my question, I understand.

Was just wondering where if it was an option and if so where do we stand on it.

The boosters need to go nuclear. They are the only ones that can change this.

You cannot expect people from a message board to spread this stuff and be taken seriously.

Bring it public and go nuclear.. What do you have to lose at this point. Letting them get away with this crap? Just so y'all can say I told you so in a few years when we are even worse off as a program..

Boosters need to fire 'the shot heard round the world'. Pull every dime, and make it known now in public..

Otherwise we are just laying down again.

If Haslam and Currie succeed, I will be blaming the other boosters.

I don't disagree with this. I just see diminishing probability that the conditions for Gruden to be hired actually occur.

With Haslam's track record, does anyone seriously think Gruden would entertain working for him? Because that's who he would be working and all the medling and control issues that go along with that farging bastage...

I know Brohm is not the big name people want, but if it fell to him I believe he would do very well.

Went to grad school at Middle. I've seen his teams in person when he was at western ky. There are a couple of things that you all would like about him.

1. Great offensive mind. He developed two QB's Brandon Doughty who lit it up a couple of years ago and Mike White (who was terrible at USF) and led the nation in passing last year.

2. Confident and cocky. If hired he would be like our version of a younger Spurrier when he left Duke and went to UF.

3. Comes from a football family and good coaching lineage. He's part of the Petrino tree and when it's all said and done I believe he will have a better career than Petrino. I actually already think he is a better coach than Petrino.

So, TIFWIW.

I would be fine with Brohm, he is young, but has a great offensive mind. He will do great when he gets a real job.

I'm ready to get onboard with Brohm. He is coach unlike Butch. He needs to hire a good staff with good recruiters. This could turn out really good.

We have one booster who is fighting for us. AtlantaVol. The rest seem spineless and Haslam must have their balls in a jar on his desk. I’m over it.

Everyone will have to decide individually what their own nuclear option is. For me personally, it is what I mentioned earlier. If John Currie Hiers a coach, I will no longer support the University of Tennessee in any shape, manner or fashion, until the Haslam influence has been eliminated.

If the other boosters not named Haslam are going to use a nuclear option would it not be best to keep it secret? It would also serve best to deny that possibility in MSM outlets and on Vol nation to catch them off guard. Kinda like they did on Sunday with Schiano.

Just my 2 cents.

With all respect, you have no idea who I've discussed the things I know with, only that I haven't discussed them with you. With more respect, you also have no idea of any of the other obligations and duties that may be connected to this information.

Best regards to you. :hi:

By "you," I assume you mean all of us here on VN. I certainly wouldn't expect you to contact me directly.

You supposedly have concrete details on the Gruden deal...dates, times, etc. All of that information could be used to right the ship. If Gruden cant'/won't speak up, we could. You refuse.
