****!...line em up lets go to war this university's foundation was built before haslam, I feel sorry for all of the greats that have came here and played for the university only to be remembered and represented like this, our fan base needs to find its inner grit and pride and take it to the university, after all it's our money that's keeps the place going ,take it away to remind them who is in control..if they are ok with raising tuition 20k let them they won't only be hearing from the fans anymore they will be hearing it from the students and academic side of things they cherish the most ...this is the way but it has to be a mass movement...don't tell them you pull the funding actually do it

But what if Gruden is taking the Browns job that will likely be open in a few weeks? He wouldn't say jack about anything if that were the case.

Then that blows up the Haslam/Currie conspiracy that has been alluded to in this thread. I’m not saying that I buy into it, I am in the small portion of fan base that would like some sort of corroboration to the Grumors in order to completely buy in.

Can someone explain to me the Tee fascination? I understand he played here and even won us a championship but what exactly has he done to garner this job?

He turned us down last time he was asked to join a staff. He’s a decent OC but is he head coach material at this moment or is just because you think he’s the only one willing to take the job?

I’m not bashing Tee I’m genuinely curious because I’m not getting it. If we’re upset about some of these other coaches what makes Tee so attractive?

Also, has JJ or dale jones GF said anything on Twitter they were vocal before?

I think the nuclear option is required at this juncture but I do not see the big money boosters going nuclear. That is just do not operate that way.

But yes the peasants and down trodden were often the deciding factor however we probably wont get that opportunity again.

We are headed down a path none of us wants to be on. If we get a no name coach, we will get no name recruits and we will not win games. A result of that is boosters "encouraging" good players to come to Tennessee. You will have desperate people doing desperate things. And it will be far worse than it is now.

I don’t believe enough fans will boycott anything. They know that. 90% of our fans are casual supporters and don’t know and don’t care about any power struggle or the need for change.

This is what I've always thought, BUT what happened Sunday may challenge that line of thinking. The public outcry against Schiano was more than just a vocal minority.

I would also wager that the Schianamo woke a lot of fans up to the power struggle who didn't know nor care before Sunday.

See the Vandy game. I think you're underestimating the passion of the overall fan base.

If they’re relying on ticket sales and concessions then I would say yes. Big money donors won’t cover those renovations imho.

Not all caps at you but...

WE DONT NEED ANY DAMN RENOVATIONS. Who cares about big wig playgrounds?

Hire the right guy and the low level contributors and revenue will cover what is needed. **** Haslam

If you recall when Butch was hired, it took all the marketing effort available to get 80000 in Neyland for a game. I was at Fulmer’s last game, attendance was embarrassing. I believe that until any coach produces a winning product your ceiling in Neyland is 75000. If they hire Steele, Morris, or some other gullible goat, half empty Neyland will be unattainable.

And btw, I hate to say it, but I’m believing the Manning/Gruden package to the Browns is more believable the longer this draws out. Think about it. We’ve been played.

I'm really sorry I brought that up.

I thought that too, but I know some sunshine pumpers that say they are done too. Now when it comes time to make that decision, will they? Who knows. But when the sunshine pumpers threaten to leave...you know it is bad.

Think quality not quantity. Those casual fans aren’t the wind in the sail. When donations/season tickets etc take a hit, they will feel it.

80-20 rule. We need that 20% of the most vivid fans to give up, and 80% of revenue is at threat.

Here's the thing- casual fans are the first to go when losses start mounting.

And we just came off of our first 8-loss season in history.

It's the diehards that have been keeping things going, and now we're sick of the stuff and we see the real problems.

Tennessee's AD revenues will suffer next year when we inevitably scrape the bottom of the outhouse (not even a barrel at this point) for our next coach.

And casual fans buy their tickets at stub hub... they don’t donate to the Fund to be able to get season tickets. That’s where UT is really going to feel the pain - in the Fund. Already they were offering deals on getting extra tickets to season ticket holders.

Hard to say other than Tee is a fantastic recruiter and at least an above average OC. Very similar track as Dabo at Clemson. Much would depend on who he surrounds himself with.

1) He turned us down because it was Butch. He knew.

2) It's apparent no one wants to work with Currie and this garbage fire of an administration, so until that changes,Tee has says he wants it he's a VFL, and that gives him weight above some of the other guys being mentioned. Steele? No thank you.

I'm beyond Gruden at this point. If you can't attract a reputable coach by offering to double their salary, you aren't going to get any coach worth a darn.

This AD is completely and utterly hopeless and the atmosphere they, yes trolls, THEY created by trying to sneak in a sub par coach is like being inside the reactor room at Chernobyl.

Yeah, we need to move on from Gruden, at least for now. Someone needs to start a Hire David Blackburn thread and all of us move there and turn our attention to making that happen.

I’m gonna go out in a limb and say if Currie remains and we hire a bargain basement coach, that number will be easily met. Not a penny from me will be spent on or at UT until the mutiny is put down.
