Question: Are the small business owners and hotel owners of east TN beating the doors down at the mayors and AD offices. It seems to me a lot more ppl will be affected than just the university. I like on the West side and haven't seen this addressed. Years of lurking, first time posting. Ya'll are a great bunch and give a retired old man something to look foreward to everyday

Somebody, perhaps an OG, should write a comparison of Grumors ala 2008 vs 2012 vs 2017

It’s almost as if the administration has used the same fan distraction strategy and repackaged it for three different ADs to run their search underneath the veil of confusion.

Specifically this search was the exact same cloth from 2012 with the exact same players being told “this time is different”

You were lied to
They were lied to
You are pawns
Until you stop acting like it

Better get the word out to them. They are about to hit rock bottom if Currie/Haslam are enabled to make this hire.

They will sign Knoxville’s death warrant. Once such a proud city

Man, it is slow in here, where is everyone....

Fatigue is setting in.

Also I've talked with posters who are getting tired of all the conspiracy talk and have decided to spend their energy elsewhere until something solid comes out. Hard to blame people when there's almost nothing in the mainstream media about what might be going on behind the scenes.

Here is my thoughts this morning. At this point, the best thing that can happen is that every single person turns us down.

That may be the only way of getting rid of the rot inside this administration.

I think you could be right.

Sometimes, the failure has to be severe for the people in charge to "get it." It might set us back in the short term, but face it, there isn't much further we can be set back (we just went winless in the SEC). It would be worth it to finally see positive change that will set the program up for sustained success.

I feel like whatever happens next, something needs to be said publically. The old saying is put your money where your mouth is, but in this case it’s become put your mouth where your money is. If these other boosters really are working on a plan, they (or somebody with public credibility) need to say something. Get the word out about what is going on. VolNation has done their parr, and quite admirably I must say.

I'm fed up. I'm tired. I'm pissed. I'm at a loss of words. I went to bed angry and in disbelief that we're in this mess and I woke up even angrier. I did my part Sunday by calling Currie's office when it was posted, now it's time to make another call. Can someone post the number we need to call to complain? Is it the athletic office, alumni affairs (which I am an alum), or a completely different department? Please and thank you. It's time to end this mess today.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen.

I’m still here and still on the Gruden wagon. This is my VN “family”here and we will keep the music playing and remain calm and positive until the very end. At least I will. I may be alone, but I’m here til the bitter end.

I’m drinking my coffee then getting ready to start my emails again.

I've thought it, but just thought that was my pissed off attitude speaking. And sadly, whoever brought up the Austin Peay guy a while back, might end up being right.

Empty Neyland is about to get real I'm afraid.

Do I remember reading when Currie was hired, that K-State (and other coaches) talked about how no coach wanted to work for him, or am I imagining things?

My sources (who I trust and have have never let me down) are saying all of the Schiano and Gundy talk is just a smokescreen. They are doing this to drag the coaching search out to allow Gruden to finish this season of MNF. Last night at the bar, Beav, Atlvol and I discussed if we should release this information and we decided it was time to calm everyone down and let them know Gruden is still coming. Currie and company are getting huge raises after this for playing their act so well.

You had me right until you said "huge raise." Absolutely no way would this fly. At this point, he could trot out Nick Saban and we'd still want his head for making us look so laughable and pathetic nationally.

haslam and currie acted beyond irrationally with schiano. Hence why people even as powerful as atlanta vol were caught off guard. Haslam knows the massive financial impact but either doesn’t care or doesn’t comprehend (hard to tell which with him).

but why, if this is his alma mater, why does he want to see it be this dumpster fire that it is, for the last 10 years it been bad.. If money is no object, then get the best, and he would make more money

Because we've got faceless people telling us to keep fighting some fight when we don't even know if that fight is real.

It's certainly real from our end, but are the other boosters doing their part? Who knows.

They've been saying it all along man, power. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. When you can walk in and do whatever you want, why give that up because us "peons" aren't happy with the program?
