You don't want Gruden. You want who I say you want!

If we are really offering to double his salary, I cannot see that as something Haslam would do.

The overreaction is beginning. Everyone needs to chill out. Not worry about the "early signing period". Step back from the ledge. Push for resignation. Enter new decision maker/makers. make a hire in January. Save UT football.

Honestly, if you have that kind of info, you need to email it anonymously to someone in the media.

If you are that 100% sure, and can prove it, then send it to someone in the media like Clay Travis and let what ever happens happens.

Could you possibly lose a friend of this? Yes, but we're at a crossroads for this University and program. Do we sit back and let the devil continue to pull the strings, or do we take the right path and walk into the light?

Choice is your's

I don't know if he knows anything or not, but if he does, he could lose a job and more.

Good grief

While I honestly understand those with legitimate connections wanting to remain loyal to these connections, this is has got to be exposed. I don't blame the guys posting here for not betraying their sources. I blame the sources for not giving them the go ahead to reveal it all.

Maybe they fear being found naked and dead in the river somewhere?

Everyone in the Gundy thread are verbatim saying if Currie pulls this off they’d forgive him. Seriously???? This is what I was afraid of! This is a Haslam move and he is about to win again. Biker was right... sad day.

This is spot on! Currie and Haslam just got everyone to swing at a pitch that's low and way outside.

I also don't think Gundy is coming BTW.

For the right $$$$ he would.

He's stagnant at OSU. Caps out at 9-10 wins per year and can't beat OU except when he gets lucky.

If he can't beat ONE team, how is he going to beat THREE teams?

He's a good coach, but I'm not sure he's what we need, nor do I believe he'd seriously come here.

He was an OSU QB, he literally is at home, why would he leave?

My guess is he is bluffing to get a raise. Now, what if T.Boone calls that bluff???

HARD TRUTHS TO SWALLOW
———————————————-

HYAMS IS GOOFY, BUT WELL-INFORMED.
After weeks of bashing Hyams, we must now accept that he’s been right all along. He had access to Currie, while Wallace, Brice, and our own insiders had access to prominent boosters or other members of the AD. Since Currie/Haslam went rogue, we were all misinformed, while Hyams relayed the facts straight from the horse’s (or jackass’s) mouth.

GRUDEN IS NOT COMING.
I have finally accepted that Gruden is NOT an option. Yes, we could have had him. Yes, he was served up by prominent boosters. I had a heart-to-heart yesterday with a trusted reporter who assured me Gruden had come to an agreement on the 13th, but “backed off five days later.” I asked if he “backed off” because Currie failed to show legitimate interest, and the reporter respectfully declined to respond. Regardless, that ship has sailed, and we must accept Hyams’ reports that Gundy, Morris, Pruitt, and Steele are the top remaining candidates. Gundy is likely to decline our offer, which will leave us with three uninspiring options.

CURRIE WILL CHOOSE OUR NEXT COACH
We can fight to remove Currie. And we will win. But he will make this hire. Why? Because no one else is dumb enough to take the risk of making it. If Blackburn took over at this point, he would inherent a losing hand. Currie made his bed. He’ll now be forced to lie in it. And we’ll most likely be forced to endure another 3-plus years of mediocrity, the only consolation being that Currie will no longer be our AD after this debacle.

Is Ergen deeply involved?

If he backed off for any other reason than he didn't want to do it which if it got to that point is hard to imagine, then why can't we get him now? If the reporter can prove this, then maybe Gruden gets the change he desires.

He has been my number 2 all along after Gruden. I am hoping the disaster with schiano is going to be a blessing and get us KIFFIN.

I'm in the same boat because I want a coach that is used to winning. 1-Gruden 2-Kiffen 3-J.Harbaugh. I left Peterson out because it's too late now after Currie blowed it.

Kiffin's demeanor is that "stress" doesn't affect him as much as other coaches. I don't see it as swagger as others call it. Find his interview where he describes the SEC as "a different animal." He knows what's going on.

Nope. We wouldn't have. We would say, "he didn't know anything." It is ok if we refuse Schiano on the basis that we don't believe he is a good coach. That is sufficient. And not to mention the lack of transparency surrounding the hire. The PSU bit only added fuel to the fire after the fact.

Get over it already. You have said this 10 different dang ways and it’s still unfounded and stupid.
