Official Jon Gruden Thread XLIV

Did you see bald biker post from last night?

My impression is, Bald Biker fought a whole different battle than the one Atlanta Vol is engaged in.

Sounded like Bald Biker walked into the AD's office, announced, "I'm a damn booster, I spend thousands of dollars supporting this university, and I demand some answers," as any good Marine would. And was somewhat less than politely given very little satisfaction.

Meanwhile, Atlanta Vol and other boosters whose donations ride at least two orders of magnitude higher than that, are engaged in a power struggle that you would not be able to see standing in the AD's offices.

That's the impression I've gotten, anyway.

Bald Biker last night

Folks, we better buckle in. We most likely will not win this time. But, please think twice before you support this circus right now. If we all withhold our money and let them see empty seats, it will hurt in the short term. But it is the only way to win the war and set the University back on the right track.

I don't think PM was in on it.

I think that Gruden represents someone else getting their way (the other boosters). I think that's all there is to it.

Agreed. You look at all the stupid from Jimmy Haslam over the years - the rebate scandal with the 92 million dollar get out of Jail card at Pilot, the John Currie hire, the Schiano hire, the Manziel draft no one in his organization wanted - this is a guy who would rather get his way than listen to people who are trying to keep him from doing damage to the organizations he is a part of.

Currie may not be at the bball game tomorrow, but you can bet Haslam's smug *** will be there. Maybe the students can start a nice fire Haslam chant for him tomorrow.

Place needs to be empty, if no one shows up the administration will know this is no joke. If we want Currie fired this would be a big step in the right direction.

I agree.

I don't believe for a second PM would tarnish his polished reputation for the sake of appeasing Haslam. He doesn't need Haslam to get to an NFL front office.

If anything, I find it more likely that, if PM did "sign off," he did so to set in motion the coup d'etat needed to reset the board.

No, he makes it sound like AV was there with him.

That's how it looks to me as well. And, as long as there is unity in the anti-Haslam bunch, it should work. They cannot blink. They cannot flinch.

Could be the most idiotic thing I've read. Yeah you're right we need to empty TBA. Some people on this thread blow my mind. Do you not think about the players that busted their A** and are sky high in MO right now?

Anyone that uses "retards" in a derogatory fashion loses instant credibility in my book.

Then you probably should look into who he is. I believe he is a big d*** good ol boy with the loot to back up what you view as less than acceptable grammar choices, and he probably doesn't care what you think.

guys, it's important to keep the focus on replacing this ad and the haslam influence on our program. I see lots of people chattering about lane kiffin, but we can debate his pros or cons later.

Fact is, no coach will have sustained success with the snakes still in play.

We must clean house first, and we can't get sidetracked from that, even by something as important as a new coach. We aren't talking about saving a recruiting class or a season anymore, we are fighting for the whole enchilada.

Saw this on Twitter:
The Charity Bowl
@volstreetnavy1

@VolTwitt_er Lets tweet out these phone numbers and call the Alumni Association and the Tennessee Fund.
Tennessee Fund: 865-974-1218
Alumni Association: 865-974-3011
They are making a spreadsheet to take to the higher-ups. Change in administration, firing Currie, and no Halsam
I just made the call

Ass wipe > retards - But that is just myself who has dealt personally with a few special need children in my lifetime.

The following I read on another site. Not my words at all. It was written by a gator fan. FANTASTIC READ.

"I get it. This wasn't about a singular event. This wasn't only about Schiano and Penn State.
It was about Kiffin. It was about Dooley. It was about Jones.
But, it was also about Pearl, Cuonzo and Tyndall.
It was about Delmonico, Raleigh and Serrano.
It was about the tragic end of the Pat Summit era and watching that program slowly be just another SEC team under Holly. A good team for sure, but not what once was.
It was about an athletic program that arguably is currently inferior to Vanderbilt.
It was about finishing 13th overall in the SEC men's all-sports standings for 2016-17. It's about not producing a men's SEC championship team since 2011 men's tennis.
It was about an athletic program that has failed and disappointed time and again. And through it all, people continued to cheer, support, travel, pay and hope.....only to be lied to, let down, and forced to endure.
But, this time would be different. The President of the school changed. The athletic director changed. All of the past failure was well documented. It could not be repeated. It would not be repeated. This time it was going to be different.
And then it wasn't.
And the people, who only have their voices, stood up and said "hell no". As many have pointed out, it united this fan base like nothing else in a decade. Everyone agreed. Everyone had enough. "Hell no". In a matter of a few hours, the push back was so strong that those in power had no choice but to listen.
I know that Tennessee fans are catching hell in some places, but I can only put myself in your shoes and say "I get it"."

Just spreading around to get good words out there.
