Official Jon Gruden Thread XLIV

If the below did indeed happen, I'm pretty sure the ongoing coup has definetly reached a boiling point !!

Your going to be even more entertained when you realize boosters aren’t putting up $12 million for Butch boys buyout to get PJ ****ing Fleck. We got our white whale and the Tennessee is returning to its rightful place on top.

I hope AV can give us direction on how to support their effort.

I have emailed and called, but that may not be enough.

Myself, as well as a gaggle of friends, would be willing to do whatever it takes to right the ship.

Unfortunately, we can only do so much. I feel like Currie is waiting it out and we have to keep pressure on.

They've already lost the $$$ for the Reno and Currie didn't flinch. So is an empty stadium gonna do it?

340M gone and he didn't flinch

Because they have the money to wait anyone out. My brother got screwed in a business deal by Big Jim and threatened to sue to recover his losses. Jim said go ahead. I'll keep you tied up in court so long it will bankrupt you. That's the kind of man pulling the strings in all of this. Makes me ill...

Currie’s statement completely threw the fans under the bus. It certainly didn’t take responsibility for any of the change in opinion that nixed the Schiano deal. And didn’t put blame on anyone else in administration. I can only take that as his arrogance saying this only happened because of the public blacklash.

John Currie who listened to fans berate him for not firing CBJ soon enough and for 8 weeks, wasn’t going to all the sudden back out with cold feet on Sunday. He was sent to hire Schiano by HOH and would have done it.

Now real question is who nixed the deal from going through? That’s what we all want to know. Was it purely Davenport, or are there more people willing to step up against HOH.

The blaming fans can only go so far, before it points back to people in charge.

I really think it was the 73 Tennessee legislators publicly denouncing this hire that nixed it. I really feel this family only cares about getting to the upper echelon of politics, via Bill. Bill wants in the Senate, possibly the White House. Think the Kennedy family.
We need to put pressure again on the politics side of things. We need Tennessee to say we will never vote for Haslam again over this.

The more I think about I*t*, I’m ready to bring Tee home and let’s ride or die with one of our own. He has as much experience as Dabo and Kirby did. Let’s go get Tee.

Golic and his inmates comment can kiss my arse. This has been a long standing problem. The common denominator is Haslam and his planted PUPPETS that are out for nothing but control and power, and keeping UT in their grasp at all cost.

I'm curious to hear what local radio (Swain, etc) has been saying today. Anyone heard anything? Can't listen since I'm at work

Folks,

I have been busy making my voice heard by calling all possible contacts in areas of leadership at UT. I have respectfully stated my feelings as a UT alum from Ohio that John Currie be replaced, and that my contributions have ceased until the university actually hears and acts accordingly. I have asked for these comments to be passed to those in authority.

We can’t let up. Of course, we should be respectful. But we must overwhelm those in leadership with calls and emails.

Also, with regards to Haslams, we need to flood Tennessee government leaders with these same sentiments. And on twitter, #BoycottPilotFlyingJ.

Everybody is Davey Crockett now. Go get em.

Where do you see the budget money for the reno has been affected? The BOT met and approved it just a few weeks ago.

Somebody needs to paint the rock with something to the effect of Haslams stay away from our athletic programs. We don't want you anymore.

I have seen a lot of Haslam hate on these threads but not sure if the public at large is aware of the damage that family has done.

Repost[/QUOTE]

Done. My email.

Mr. Golden,

There is nothing that can be said that already hasn’t been addressed. There is not much hope that anything I say can, or will, have any smidgen of a chance of reverberating and causing change. Honestly. I have very little faith that this email will ever be read.

However, I would not be true to the greatest college mascot and namesake as a Tennessee Mounted Volunteer, as someone who now views the death of our Athletic Department to that of Davy Crockett and not stand up and say something. As was then, a call to arms is necessary, and I think you would agree the call for action has been more than anticipated during this fallout.

I was born in Knoxville, my family has generations of Tennessee graduates, I am an Alum, who paid for my degrees with no help from any grant or loan. My investment, and that of my family, and as graduates of this institution, should be allowed and further, to have the right, to voice our displeasure with what has occurred.

Athletic Director Currie needs to held to a higher standard than most, and to not have him answer publicly, with details concerning this coaching search and how “under the cover of darkness at the 11th hour” tried to hire who he did, is a reprehensible offense to many VOLS out here.

There is no reason for him to not have to be held to the standard to which he was hired, and professed, to being held to.

I truly hope that anyone who was complicit in the actions is also held accountable. I, my family, and many, if not the majority, of TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS do not accept this man as our Athletic Director, and truly wish that the powers that be understand just how disappointed and frustrated we are with him, and the University as a whole.

If something isn’t done to either address this situation head on and publicly, or end in a resignation or termination, that we must consider our own personal choices with our time and money and as to how we will keep donating and funding this University.

Guys, it's important to keep the focus on replacing this AD and the Haslam influence on our program. I see lots of people chattering about Lane Kiffin, but we can debate his pros or cons later.

Fact is, no coach will have sustained success with the snakes still in play.

We MUST clean house FIRST, and we can't get sidetracked from that, even by something as important as a new coach. We aren't talking about saving a recruiting class or a season anymore, we are fighting for the whole enchilada.

Well said. Just wanted everyone to see it again

People worrying about the coach should be worried about the AD first, then Haslam's team of control freaks. Until that changes nothing else matters.

YESSSS!!! This 1000%. Now is not the time to worry about coaches. WE HAVE TO GET CURRIE OUT!!! We have to get Blackburn IN!! This should be everyones SOLE FOCUS!!

One week ago, we were all anxiously awaiting today. Gruden was going to be announced and the SEC world was going to be out on notice. My how things can change so drastically so quickly.

I get that but after a while, we have to realize that change probably isn't happening. I have done what I know to do but I hear no credible sources saying anything about administration changes.
