Official Jon Gruden Thread XLIV

Maybe, but you can only go on message board chatter so much, someone with direct knowledge of the situation needs to anonymously leak the info to the press.

This HAS to get out in such a manner that it causes a big black eye on all the Haslam's eyes.

That's the only way real change will happen. It's gotten to the point now that the boosters have an obligation to this University and program to get rid of any bad influences in anyway possible.

Who knows that that isn't happening now?

Any press member who is going to put this out will need to be very careful about being able to document any claims about the Haslams. That will take some time.

What makes me even more mad about this Schiano thing is that evidently we told Chip Kelly and his people we weren't interested in him at all.

He was my number 1 until I thought Gruden might be a possibility.

Obviously it doesn't matter what I want. Actually, maybe it does. Seems any coach I really don't want is who we end up with and vice versa.

I really really want Lane.

I think it’s like someone who leaves you for their super hot dream girl....who then uses him and dumps him. He rebounds to a nice enough girl who’s stripping on the side to pay the bills. He’s in the relationship but not “in it” for good. But, you know, he realizes now that you were always “the one”. He starts dropping some interest out there to let you know. Starts showing up whenever you’re out.....and then boom. He’s professing his undying love and that you were the one that got away.

Kick that s*** to the curb.

Oh come on! It all depends on where he met the stripper, doncha think?

I'd rather not have an empty stadium for the whole country to see

It's the only way you force change, Duds. Here's the thing...

If we as fans decided to boycott a game (or several) and plenty of low level season ticket holders decided not to renew, that puts the pressure on the AD to find sources of money to pay for that expansion project. And you know where they are going for it. In turn, those boosters will have to ask themselves "why" this all happened and why they are cracking open their wallet to pay for things already underway or contracted out.

Less fans = The AD crawling towards the boosters begging because of a stupid mistake.

And they know the easy solution to that. The standard fan sitting in the nose bleed sections have way more power than they realize. Don't buy tickets, don't buy concessions, don't pay for parking passes, don't pay for tailgate areas, don't buy overpriced merchandise from the book store.

Don't feed the beast. You can support the troopers on the field by forcing a leadership change that might be in their best interest.

If he stays on, it’ll be in name only. If they are allowing him to actually travel and interview on his own merit then we are in worse trouble than I thought. What does he even say to a coach when asked about Sunday?? Based in his statement, I bet he throws the fans under the bus.

Currie’s statement completely threw the fans under the bus. It certainly didn’t take responsibility for any of the change in opinion that nixed the Schiano deal. And didn’t put blame on anyone else in administration. I can only take that as his arrogance saying this only happened because of the public blacklash.

John Currie who listened to fans berate him for not firing CBJ soon enough and for 8 weeks, wasn’t going to all the sudden back out with cold feet on Sunday. He was sent to hire Schiano by HOH and would have done it.

Now real question is who nixed the deal from going through? That’s what we all want to know. Was it purely Davenport, or are there more people willing to step up against HOH.

The blaming fans can only go so far, before it points back to people in charge.

Well, good sir, kindly shAre with me what you have to say. I am interested.

The thread moves so fast and so many people are engaged in a conversation making it hard to get a word in. Either goes unnoticed or ignored. I know I've had to skip at times to get to current posts.
Basically I said what I wanted in the post about Slortscenter......so never mind I guess.

He cannot throw the fans under the bus. What coach would come in and coach a team with a 3/4 empty stadium?
