Nope, I legitimately think hes ready. Fantastic recruiter calling plays at a big time school. Get him a good D coordinator, and realize this gig is going to take more than a couple of years from now to turn around.
1. They did not offer him anywhere near that amount of money lol. They absolutely will not pay anyone, it's like some rule there.
2. This is a blessing in disguise, there's many better candidates than Cutcliffe, it's just a question of whether our AD will contact them and show them respectable money.
Just wondering why there have been zero leaks about the coaching search and now we get this. Is it because Currie didnt actually reach out to anyone previously? Just trying to figure it out.
according to the internet, Cut's salary at Duke is 1.7 million. You expect me to believe that he would turn down 7 million per year to come back? I dont believe it. Why not pay some money and get a quality coach instead of this awkward, penny-pinching approach that has sunk our ship so many times before? The UT FB program is on the edge of an abyss - one more stupid mistake ( as in hiring a coach that Sarah Huckabee slams on facebook) may be sufficient to cripple it for DECADES. We have money, tradition, facilities and a rabid ( in all senses of the word) fanbase- why is this an impossible task?
Bingo.
The plan all along was Schiano. Period, final, end of story.
That should tell any of the few remaining Vol fans that want to give Currie and the Haslam's the benefit of the doubt where they stand with this program.
Would put Miles ahead of everyone of those names. Would go Miles, Brohm, Sumlin and Norvell. No to Brown, Tee and Strong.
