Auburn...you cheer for Auburn
Absolutely. First of all we have a lot in common with AU. We both hate Bama, Georgia and Florida I went to SEC championship in 2004. I went to Tiger walk with my son who is an Auburn fan and was wearing a Manning jersey. I had no problems at all with AU fans

Anytime something like this arises cause will be evaluated. So my answer is yes but I have not been told directly by anyone at this time.

The thing now is do not let up. Write, call, text, tweet. If you know anyone booster, player, BOT, legislators, make it your mission to help. This does not need to stop with Currie.

For those that are worried about the national media making us look bad. Stiffen your back and do what’s right. Stand up for Tennessee and don’t be a wilting violet in the face of a bunch of wind bags. Many people give lip service to giving your all for Tennessee and now is your chance. Don’t go quietly or be shouted down.[/QUOTE]

Quoting so this does not get hidden

National media was gonna burn us alive either way.

Boosters were pushing for Gruden. I am not sure about Peterson and where it came from at the moment. It wouldn't surprise if it was bs. I don't know Gruden personally. Obvious reason was yesterday why everyone was so secretive. When I said 100%. I still had a bit doubt, because of Haslam. 2nd time he has done this. Who put Haslam in as AD when it was supposed to be Blackburn? Who do the BOT answer to? There are your answers to why I think it was probably Schiano the whole time for Currie, while smiling at the boosters for Gruden.

This is exactly what happened. Don't ask me how I know, but this is where we are at right now. Haslam already had instructed Currie, no Gruden. Gruden would mean no more power. That's literally all of this is about. "Biggest d*ck in the room syndrome"

Another little tidbit. Gruden was never formally offered by Currie. All of the contract stuff was being floated by boosters. Surprising, right? Not when he's a puppet.

I really don't think there is any way he would sabotage himself.

yeah not a good use of the word sabotage. Just can't come up with a good reason why Currie would allow boosters to believe they had a coach hired and a back up plan behind that and in reality they seemingly knew they were gonna attempt to hire Schiano. THEY is Currie, Haslam, Davenport, at a minimum plus now hearing Peyton and maybe one more booster.

Why do this in this manner? We have no choice but to believe Haslam is behind it all. You have Currie in the Bahamas at a most critical time when UF was getting the show on the road interviewing or talking to Kelly, Frost, Mullen, and maybe others and all the while our AD is doing nothing but sitting on a secret hire and he knows all this time that almost all boosters have been mislead.

He hasn't legally actually committed a wrong as far as law that I can tell but ethically he's a damn disgrace and bought shame upon this university. This warrants dismissal and I'm certain the overwhelming majority of boosters are gonna see to it that he's shown the door. It's beyond time for us Vol fans to stay the course and rid this university of these ignorant professionals who pretend to have the interests of the university in mind when in reality their interests are self serving or give that appearance. It's almost beyond belief to think that a select few can just do what they want without fear of repercussion. The reality is that fans have the true power if only they chose to unite and that's the main reason this behavior continues....the fans don't unite or they haven't yet. Gonna be a long weary summer before we meet W.Va. to kick off 2018. I pray the better heads prevail.

1. Boosters provided Gruden on a platter.
2. Boosters allowed Currie to announce stadium renovations with their contributions helping.
3. Boosters got blindsided. (Thus, “insiders” did as well.) Booster’s called his bluff and pulled funding — and used political allies to get the message across quickly.
4. Boosters got lucky someone has a spine in the AD and — I love this, brilliant — waited until Currie was in the air to leak it so by the time he got to Columbus it had blown up and no damage control could save it.
5. The leak intentionally went to mainstream, national media. It worked.
6. Davenport backing out saying she had nothing to do with it. Looks like Currie sided with Haslam and is going to take the fall.
7. Gruden. Has. Not. Said. No.
8. Gruden’s. Agent. Has. Not. Said. No.
9. Soon.

If fulmer was in on it along with manning and whoever else was mentioned, then haslam is paying them off or giving them all big big incentives for them just to say yes and turn on a university like that ,just saying maybe haslam is playing the bitter revenge card on fulmer with how he got fired..to me it's plausible but I won't say I believe that 100% either
Peyton is worth over 200 million. I don't think he would go along with a ****ty decision for money.

I'm actually starting to think boosters and VFLs did talk to Gruden, but Currie never pursued him. Why else would all those VFLs be tweeting what they did and all the reports of them being contacted by Gruden. I'm thinking Gruden was preparing to get a call and never did. This is another AD botch job.

Yes, the deal was pretty much done. All Currie had to do was reach out!

I dont think Gruden turned the job down. I think the boosters wanted Gruden and Currie was playing along with them while at the same time he was already in Haslams pocket. There was never a plan B or any other coach. Haslam knew with Gruden that he would have zero control and he wasnt about to let that happen.
The real VFL boosters that was trying to get a real coach in here was being played by Currie the whole time. Then Sunday Currie sneaks off to Ohio to hire this clown and Haslam was so use to the Vol fans just taking what ever coach his dishes out without any push back and him and Currie was going to trot out this Schiano Clown but he never figured on VN to rise up and they did. Currie screwed over the fans and lied to them on national TV when he fired Butch and he lied to the boosters like he was swinging for the fence with this hire and the whole time he had Schiano. Haslam needs to go ,Currie and Davenport needs to go. People who are mad at Gruden should not be mad at him. He did not turn nothing down because Currie never planned on hiring him. Now go hire Kiffin and lets roll

Love that optimism, gotta be honest, the whole debacle has told me everything I need to know about the AD right now. If there really is a power struggle then Haslam laid out his cards yesterday and got called. Very interested in where this search goes now.

Me too.

I can't believe Peyton had a hand in this near-hire...I distinctly recall feeling at ease that he would be involved in the coaching search.

That’s what’s being reported

Prolly just a garbage piece to try and save face

I heard the same thing. The report is that she didn't sign it. There is no reason to claim it otherwise. If she did sign, it would take 1 second to prove so. IMO the MOU is not binding without her signature.

Why I 100%, no holds bar, could not agree more with you, do you have billions of dollars to throw at the university? Unfortunately money talks. I'm a huge fan of George Orwell's Animal Farm, we read it in my English class every year. Haslam is Napoleon, Currie is Squealer, and we're the Boxers of the farm. We've worked our tails off, we bleed for the university, and when we finally think it's time for greener pastures, they're trying to send us off to the horse slaughterer with a crappy hire.

And there are other supporters at UT with BIG MONEY. Heck Ergen has a ton of more money than Haslam and many more would give more I guarantee if they felt like they were apart of things more. Many boosters are tired of a few power hungry folks controlling every aspect of UT. Good grief just look at the Browns, and look at UT and look at the who is calling the shots at both. TELL HIM NO MORE NOW!!!
