It is more time from his epic meltdown while at Clemson and farther away from his Baylor days. Steele has sure proven himself to be a quality DC once again. Kevin is slightly on the old side - wonder if his buddy Chavis would come back?

Since we are throwing Tee and Cutcliff out there why not him . He is a much better option then both of them only VFLs as a head coach I would want more are Kacy Rodgers , and Jim Bob Cooter

I'd be cool with it. UT guy, GREAT resume. Maybe lay out $1.25M to get Kiffin as OC and I'm sure he's got a good contact for DC.

Yep, West Virginia destroyed Clemson. I wonder what would’ve happened had we hired Steele instead of Sal Sunseri?

I was talking to somebody about that yesterday. We stayed away from Steele over that one game.... then got our worst DC in school history.

It's been long enough since he got 70 points hung on his defense in that bowl game that nobody remembers.

I remember and was about to post the same. I think he is a good D coach but he's had some bad outings too. That 70 point beat down cost him his job I think. Wasn't he at Clemson when that happened?

West Va would be salivating at the thought of hanging 77 up in Charlotte.

Maybe, but it wouldn't be Steele's fault. There's a lot of work over there to be done and it's going to take more than one spring and one fall camp.

Either tee at HC with Kevin Steele at DC and Kiffin at OC or Steele at HC and tee at OC

Thats almost 20 years ago. Seems like we were winning national and SEC titles back then. Things change

Steele at HC

Tee at OC

Keep Gillespie

Bring in Dale Jones for ST or LB

Tee isn't coming to Tennessee to be anything less that the OC with the understanding in writing that he is the head coach in waiting. Why would he? That's a step down for him.

Kevin Steele as HC doesn't really allow for that. Cutcliffe at HC does. So if you want Tee, you ought to hope for him to either be named HC, or Cutcliffe to be named HC.

Everyone else is tossing names out, I am entitled to do the same in a thread about Kevin Steele.

Not particularly enamored with bringing Steele or Tee back nor Cutcliffe.

Tee hasn't been in my top 15 since Jones was fired. Too soon to make the jump as a head coach.

And Cutcliffe backed off the job once already when they tried to dictate his staff to him . No way he goes for the scenario you spelled out with Tee as his OC/HC in waiting.

Currie is not going to listen to anyone on this site and you can bet that the next person he decides to hire, he will not back down regardless if we riot in the streets of Knoxville. What has he got to lose as he is most likely gone after a new coach is hired anyway. Seems to me that he is better suited for Congress then he is as an AD with his, "I'm going to do things my way", and the he'll with what the people think. He needs to be gone, ASAP.
