JMO but as far as head coaching ability, Its not even close, and I don't in any way think Schiano is a fit at Tenn.. But he is > Steele by a mile, Steele was 9-36 as a Head Coach..
If Haslam/Currie/Davenport roll that crappy hire out in Knoxville, They seriously "could" be in physical danger..
Not from me, but they have seriously missed what this fan base expects...

Welp - Mr Currie has himself an issue

He got exposed as a puppet when he trotted our Schiano

Then he got exposed as a puppet with two puppet masters when he got overruled and told no

Any coach walking into a job where the boss and the bosses boss are being led by two different leaders find themselves in a position to be caught in a pissing match.

That’s how Currie screwed us. And really, it was Haslam.

Currie made the right hire in Schiano. We won't get a better coach at UT. Tee Martin? Please. Not ready. The snowflakes in the UT fanbase melted at the thought of Schiano and now the school is in a huge mess. Schiano is better than any other coach we will bring to UT. Nice job morons. To blame Currie is a joke. This one is on the snowflake faction of the "fanbase." Nice. Job. As for the Haslams, Tennessee wouldn't have half the facilities it has without them. So STFU about the Haslams.

Finally, a reasonable opinion. Actually, there have been a few.

We may not get a better coach BECAUSE Currie tried to hire Schiano, but we could have done much better had we avoided that fiasco.

He was hated by the players in Tampa and nobody liked him, told players to go for QB’ s knees ect, even Peyton cursed his ass out,we don’t need another Butch Jones which is what he is. This university just went through a ****ing tittle nine case and the last thing we need is more sexual allegations or innuendo to add to our problems..

The fan base didn’t do sh-t except provide a scapegoat for the national media.

The reason this didn’t go down was the boosters pulled funding for the $300 million renovations if Currie went through with this.

Why is it that most of these kind of takes are from posters w 50 posts? I don't like to point that sort of thing out because it's generally not important, but it just seems like there's been a bunch of posters come out of the woodwork for Schiano. Bizarre

I am really struggling to believe that if Currie was throwing around $7M+ from the start, that Schiano was the best we were going to do. That is Top 3 money.

Additionally, Currie failed in a lot of ways, but none more disastrous then failing to manage the fanbases expectations. They we're expecting a home run, but instead we another mediocre Big East coach. Honestly, a negative reaction should have been expected. Currie was arrogant and played the cards too close to the chest.

Additionally, per Currie's statement, Schiano was a wonderful coach and person and at the first challenge to Currie's judgement, he rolled over and cut Schiano loose. That's not what a leader does! That's not what a man of conviction and confidence does! If Currie felt that strongly that Schiano was the guy, he would have stuck by him. That fact that he didn't should tell you an awful lot about how Currie truly felt about Schiano.

Hyams put out some long tweets pumping up Steele after Gundy turned us down last night, and Tony Barnhart chimed in as well. I'm thinking this is a coordinated leak to start getting Steele's name out there because that may be where they are heading. Love the VFL stuff, seems like a good man, but boy that Baylor record worries the hell out of me. I'll definitely give him a chance if he is the guy.
