I will never support Currie. He could hire NC coaches for football and basketball at this point and it would not matter. He threw us under the bus to serve his despot Haslam. That Haslam has wanted to hire this guy to the Browns before us makes me wonder about Jimmy's man crush on a loser as a coach and human being. Joe Banner had a great, proven background in the NFL and was willing to part ways with Haslam by opposing him on it. Tells me a lot.

How does nick kill the snake (when he can find it)? By cutting the tail off? Nope. We will always deal with this until that family is isolated out of the picture. They create their own Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities - It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Look at their history in business, politics, sports. They reach great heights, then they mess it all up. Bill's on the political rocket ship and chooses to hitch up with the Bushes instead of being a Tennessean. Career dies. Jimmy becomes successful expanding Big Jim's baby, buys the worst franchise in pro football, has his minions stealing from customers behind the scenes because he can - not because they need the money. In trouble, so he sells out control. Yet, they did great things donating for buildings on campus, to help local high schools and such along the way. Part of their system I guess. I dread the day Bill becomes UT System President and everybody has to bow at his emperor's feet knowing what we know.

People come at Ainge with the "State run Radio" he just came off the rope. He said I will tell all of you right now, Fulmer and Peyton were not asked for ANY input. Currie didn't want Schiano. Currie wanted Mullen and had his eye on him the entire time. Once that didn't happen "one person" told Currie who he was going to hire.

All common knowledge but Ainge just laying it out.

And until that "one person" is not in charge, UT football will be a welcoming mat for lower tier "yes men" administrators and coaches to the point that we will be irrelevant in the College football ranks.

Everybody I've talked to today is furious at what has took place. I even took off work today cause I couldn't sleep at all last night.

Its so disrespectful to what is going on on the HILL

Will the media stop saying He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named. It's Haslam. When the media starts saying his name he will start losing power.

VFL staff, ENGAGE!

Ugh, it'll suck having to fire them at some point. Don't like the "Tennessee guy" route. There are about 4 or 5 coaches who don't get fired. Odds are astronomically high that you'll have to fire your Tennessee guy at some point.

curious why CBS had a story released yesterday morning though. there are so many things in this search that don't make sense to end at Schiano. it's bizarre.

Same. My current belief (and this is a 180 from where I’ve been) is that gruden was a smokescreen. When people said that earlier in the process I laughed.. because it’s a horrible idea. But seeing where we ended up made me realize Currie thought it was the perfect cloud to operate behind, and he had deniability because he said “don’t believe anything unless it’s from me.”

The big Currie smile was due to someone asking him a question that led directly into what he hoped, a way to not shut down those rumors but to also say his bit about information.

The parts that don’t add up to me in the great gruden saga are Blackburn saying he’d listen if talked to and Hargis’ reporting.

Because Hargis hasn’t been strung along on this ride before? 😒

Too much doesn't make sense. A hope of a home run to get someone who isn't is just dumb as hell. that's a harsh indictment on Currie's intelligence.
