This epitomises UT's problem. All the fans in the world can tell them to suck it, as they often do, but it doesn't change the fact that Booger and Mike are 100% right. No good coach will come here and the cost of any coach we pursue just went up.

There is nothing about Schiano that should make anyone want him near this program. Nothing.

If he is such a fantastic head coach why did his Rutgers team fall off after his 11-2 season?

He is not a great coach and very likely allowed a pedophile to continue raping kids.

Oh, so you mean like they themselves? They were pretty low level analysts to begin with, spewing their mouthbreathing ESPN rhetoric to like 8 people watching in the country.

Let us know how the next round of layoffs go when the ratings crash like a wounded duck even more.

ESPN is disappointed that this did not happen so they could do feature stories on the Schiano actions at Penn State while he was the coach at UT. They are also upset that this is being exposed while he is employed at Ohio State, one of their media darlings. And the UT fanbase has outed him there.

ESPN would have had a field day with him at UT. Other SEC schools would have had a field day in negative recruiting with him at UT.

ESPN is on the wrong side of this argument and UT needs to expose them.

They keep downsizing by firing more people because their income keeps dropping as more and more people realize they are irrelevant.

Herbie, and all the others do not matter.

If all UT is going to get is scraps, then they are right where they started in this search. Schiano was not in play for any of the SEC jobs for a reason. At this point UT has to hope they hit a home run with a mid level coach or coordinator...it happens...unfortunately UT is 0-3 in their past attempts (I guess 0-4 if you count Schiano). So from a baseball standpoint, they are due for at least a hit.

Time will tell. Don't get crazy about what the media says. They are not in control. We will be fine. We just need to make a good hire. Frost, Petersen, or even Kiffin!

According to most ratings i've seen no one watches ESPN anymore anyway. All 5 people were tuned in to see what Booger, yeah a guy nicknamed Booger has thoughtful insight.

It’s not just the Sandusky issue. Outside of Legrand, who is a unique case, there are nothing but players and former coaches hating the guy, saying he shows no respect and treats everyone like children. Other than a couple of good seasons, he’s a marginal coach at best. Quit parading this guy out to be a knight in silver armor. He’s a coordinator for a reason.

Nah nobody was taken to the woodshed. They all did the same thing to LSU and GA when they fired Miles and Richt. It means absolutely nothing and won't effect hiring a coach. If fan reaction is the deciding factor for a HC candidate then he shouldn't take the job. It would mean he was very thin skinned like Butch and can't handle all the pressure tied to the job. If anyone really thinks this only happens at TN then they are stupid AF. It has happened down here in Ala at both Ala and AU. It's happens at UGA, Flor and LSU as well. Happened at Flor St, Penn St, Texas, USC, N.Dame, Michigan, etc. Could go on for days.

Doesn't matter what the media says either positive or negative. Only thing that counts is the thoughts within the coaching fraternity. We'll either find out we're a hands off toxic environment or a respected program.
