Speculation in FF is that other members of the AD were opposed to Schiano, and an associate AD leaked the information to Wolken while Currie was flying to Columbus. Currie had been telling some mid level boosters what they wanted to hear, but he was doing his own thing. Frost and Mullen became unavailable.

High level boosters are pissed and want Currie out and would consider bringing Blackburn in. What really hurt Currie was the political pressure after boosters used their connections.

Condredge is an even bigger hero to me if he is the leaker.

Honestly makes sense.

Currie needs to ask himself the question he likes to quote “will it help us win?” He has not helped us win so it’s time for him to go.

Why on earth would Currie do that though? Hows does that benefit him in any way? There's more to this 🕵

Saw from another thread: supposedly an associate AD leaked the story after he told Currie not to hire Schiano. Once Mullen and Frost fell through, he waited til he was on the plane and leaked it to cause an outrage.

Thank you to whoever that amazing vfl is that saved us. Currie get bent.

Good night, Volnation. For me, this ends the worst weekend of UT sports I've ever suffered through in my life. It may legitimately be the worst in its history.

And to think, it was a fan/booster revolt away from being so much worse.

It's the worst without a doubt minus the loss of life times.

That’s the only negative to Tee, he’s a Sexton client

I know. And if UT and Tee want to work a deal, I think we should tell Tee to stand down his agent or we'll walk. Agents represent clients, but clients call the shots. They can override agent demands.

The thought of that contract being signed and us being stuck with a Greg Schiano albatross around our necks for the next 2-3 years is horrific.

We would have sucked on the field, recruiting would have tanked, and we would likely have had reporters digging into his past at PSU.

I laugh to myself every time I think about how the collective Tennessee fan base bodied Currie today. What an arrogant, little douche. #FireCurrieTomorrow
