The Dennis Dodd article was Tennessee's way of letting people know they weren't hiring Gruden, but people wouldn't buy it.

So Sandusky had many many accusers and the first incident happened in 1998 and Greg Schiano left Penn state in 1995.....................

What an awful thing we did today. Just shameful.

We are in agreement Bruin. I don’t like what happened today one bit.

I’m liking it less and less as the dust settles.

Do some more research and check back in. The evidence was he said/she said but it was presnted he had knowledge.

You nailed it in your original rant back in January. Currie was the Haslams' man from the start. And he was hired specifically to hire Greg Schiano per the wishes of Jimmy Haslam.

They don’t care about winning. Everyone over there is worried about their own personal interests. Blackburn was the easiest hire ever but he wasn’t ever gonna be Haslam’s puppet so he got ghosted.

Maybe my rants are when I’m on to something. Butch vs Florida in 2015, lack of DT depth summer 2016, hiring Currie as AD over DB, Currie going to the bahamas during a coaching search.

Next rant.... haslams have got to go.

This all does beg the question with AM and others still open is who now?

Venables?
Tee?

We were down to Schiano apparently so we must need to go even further down the list

I don't think the lazy ass had a list. This was his pick. The reports of no other coaches being contacted and the Bahamas. I think he thought this was a great hire and we needed to look no further.

Sorry for buying the Grumors and pushing it so hard here guys. My bad. All of this sucks. Still can’t believe what has unfolded today. Hopefully it works out in the end.

:hi:

At this point, unless you are one of those people in the Gruden thread , all can be forgiven. We all need to be united at this time. Minus Boro, DTO, MIT, BabyVol, Hutch, and orangeslice, or any other insider.

As a highly paid AD, Currie disregarded all of the warning signs to arrive at the point of hiring him with Jimmy Haslam's endorsement and instructions. Fall on the sword, John.

He had knowledge. He never said a word. **** him.

I was looking forward to saying I told you so when Petersen or Mullen or Frost was announced, but I don't even have the heart now. I bought in and was taken for a fool just as much as you did, just not over a specific candidate. We were all fooled by these insiders to believe that we would get a big name, just manifested in different ways.

Put Currie in the middle of the Preds arena and get the Chant going

Currieeeeeee Currieee Its all ypir fault its all your fault!

It's my opinion that this was a faux search from the beginning. I didn't see it while it was happening as some others did but I've come to that conclusion now. Thamel gave it up when he wrote in his original "Schiano is hired" piece when he said that Currie kept in regular contact with Schiano when he was at KSU.

I don't think the Gruden offer ever happened, I think Mullen was interested but we never met, I think Campbell wanted the job but Currie went into those negotiations knowing he wouldn't budge on the buyout - just so he'd have justification for hiring the guy he wanted.

John currie is an incompetent fool. How do you have his arrogance and run a completely silent coaching search (not dropping any nuggets to maybe let the fans temper expectations) just to hire a coach with a college record of .500 and a complete failure of two seasons in the nfl. You know you are terrible at your job when the coach you put forth is a worse candidate than the previous four who held the job, three of those being fired.

Do some more research and check back in. The evidence was he said/she said but it was presnted he had knowledge.

It was a rumor he had heard from another guy who said he heard a rumor Schiano might have known something. DA investigated and found no credible information to move forward.

The incidents, like Bruin said, were years after Schiano was a coach at Penn State.

None of that is reasonable to believe he covered anything up or had knowledge of anything at all.

I’m not trying to get in a fight with anyone or try and say we should have hired him because we shouldn’t have. Twitter mob mentality just irks me and I dont like it one bit.

I don’t think it was ever a possibility for one reason. I think Currie/haslam had their guy from day one, I have no inside knowledge of that, just seems that Currie never had any plans to conduct a search.

Unfortunately, this appears to be true. I think day one was the day Currie was hired. At that moment, he was Haslem's employee, not Tennessee's. At least that is the way it appears at this time.

You're wrong.

Charges go back to 1994.

I honestly think the best thing for this university..
Fulmer as HC
Chavis DC (now available)
Randy Sanders OC (soon to be fired)
Dan brooks DL (retired in seveirville)

And then fill in the rest. Ride that and stabilize the program for 3-5 years.
