I’m pleased that the deal is dead, but I’m still upset at the state of the program. I’m more convinced than ever that things aren’t getting better anytime soon. Administration is too dysfunctional

If there is nobody worthy, and Fulmer would do it--that is the best thing. Ainge said he'd help coach anything, and I'm sure other VOLS players would.

Do you think maybe Fulmer or even Peyton didn’t know about accusations being unsealed? It wasn’t national news like the first round at Penn St.

A couple things, they failed to vet Schiano as rumor is they didn’t know about court docs. That’s on the AD. I can see people being on board aka Peyton not knowing that. Somehow that article never caused many waves last year.

Well now it is.

Currie needs to take the fall and say it was his decision alone.

Make all of these publicly say no before you trot out a man who most likely allowed child molestation to continue and is a horrible coach hated by his players, to add on top of that. And when they publicly say no, keep coming at them with more money until they have to file an order of protection.

Tennessee fans want a better coach than Greg Schiano. More than that, they deserve it. So to hell with this clueless athletics department and university leadership. Clean house and get people into position who will make our program relevant and respected once again.

I don't think any of this was known (except that he was there during some of that time) when he was hired. I doubt that he could rightfully be fired, based on suspicion. However, we have no reason to give him a major upgrade now that more of the situation has allegedly been revealed.

Just heard Schiano was actually hired 2 weeks ago and now UT owes him his full buyout of 20 MILLION and now we will have to go garbage bin shopping for a coach.

When this started leaking out I looked at my wife and said “that dog don’t hunt. They (vol twitter) will burn it to the ground.”

Hats off to everyone for nuking this. Currie next.

Fox Sports guys on radio (houston kress and friends) saying multiple sources telling them that Currie actually signed Schiano weeks ago and essentially had to backout/fire him today and owe him $20mil.

This is why you hire a search firm. This is their main function. To uncover details like this that could backfire on candidates.

I'm wondering now if Fulmer could be trusted either. I take back what I said about him being interim AD. I would love to see a full list of people that signed off/had influence in this.
