Ok, so I don't claim to know **** and haven't said anything of substance yet but here's what I have. I have a friend who's father is deep inside the AD and has been for decades. The friend says that dad says there will be a presser Monday or Tuesday to announce the new HC. The friend says get ready to be completely underwhelmed by (at best Mullen) and at worst some mid-major also ran. The friend's dad said that UT is more likely to name him HC before Gruden. He swears that although UT would love to have Gruden and Cindy really wants to be back in Knoxville, the Grude would have be out of his mind to leave his cush job now for the grind of SEC coaching for ballpark same money. I'm Gruden all the way but I can see this playing out exactly like 2012. Not trying to be a wet blanket but we may need to align our expectations with reality if we don't want to be cliff jump ready next week.

So the friends dad is basing all of this on speculation. What you’re saying is he doesn’t know anything he just believes this is how it’s going to be.

I’m all Gruden until it’s proven otherwise . I’m way to deep to try and find the shallows and settling for being safe . I survived 2012 I’ll survive 2017 either way ...” ID RATHER BURN OUT THAN FADE AWAY “

Can't stand Wes but he's got a good point here.

@wesrucker247: What was Butch Jones’ punishment when he got caught cussing about Tennessee fans on the sideline during a game?

The whole Jennings situation is an indictment of the way the culture has been for the last 2 years. He hasn’t been a part of anything football-related since his injury. Nothing. And then he expected to play this weekend vs Vandy. Coaches said no and it all blew up from there.

It’s on the coaches to make sure he’s there throughout the season, and communicate effectively that if he’s not there, he’ll have no place on the team going forward. That never came from Butch. Didn’t have the stones to have that conversation.

But ultimately it’s on Jauan, and I don’t think any of us are shocked at this. He’s a man and, even though he’s suffered from a lack of leadership, he will suffer the consequences and it’s a shame all around.

In with the new coaches and in with some actual leaders of men.

Ding ding ding.

I doubt he's even in shape enough to play a full game.

It's very unfortunate that a young man has to be a casualty in all of this.

These are 19, 20, and 21 year old kids. They don’t make the decisions of a 30, 40, or 50 year old. How quickly we forget.

This timing is squarely on Butch and his lack of a disciplined culture. If he had a disciplined culture then JJ would have been with team all season or out in September or October.

The current coaches clearly did not communicate with him correctly. Granted he should do what he did but these coaches are not behaving like the adults these kids need.

The next time you take a dump, please flush.

Currie and Hoke currently getting eviscerated by media over this decision. General reaction is that you absolutely do no in any way allow Hoke to even have his name involved in any of this. You at the very worst suspend and let the new coach decide. They are also reporting that the dismissal is due to the video on instagram.

Wow, he hasn't bothered to work out?
