Its not like it was serious lol. I asked if they were ready for Gruden in a joking way and we laughed about it a couple times. I speak to this person very regularly in the course of doing business. One of only 2-3 people who I know and would bring info out especially after 2012.

Its hard for me to buy into giving another “ on the rise coach” the keys again based just off our recent history with doing this . That would require a philosophy of we are going to keep trying the same thing until we hopefully get lucky and hit paydirt . I’ll say that if that the idea driving this ( Pay big money for unknowns then pay big buy outs ) we fans and the AD do have totally different ideas about how to get UT back to winning .

Agree on Peterson & Patterson. Kelly is a proven coach, but just a bad fit for us in my opinion. Harbaugh and Marrone from the NFL would be interesting. Franklin, as much as I dislike him, would show commitment. Though some don't like him, I'm fairly impressed with Shaw.

My point is big names that carry weight across multiple groups. Fans, boosters, recruits, assistants, etc.

Agree, I’m believing the announcement date now as next week /wednesday so probably eliminates any NFL guys besides assistant coaches imo (jbc)
