Jake, you always seem vaguely pro-Gruden to TN in this thread, but pretty dismissive of the idea in other threads.

Where do you stand on the question? Do you think he comes to coach the Volunteers? (short version)

Lulz. I told him in another thread yesterday to make up his mind. :)

i want gruden to the hill.

i'm not optimistic that it actually happens.

i come to this thread, because there's some good entertainment value, and if there's a path for JG to get here, i figure this is the place to go to see how that unfolds.

so i'm pro gruden, yes. i'm not in the camp that believes it's "going" to happen. would have no problem being wrong.

in the other threads, also looking at each, and trying to find paths for who i think might be successful here...be it mullen, peterson, frost etc....

if i had to rank who i'd want, no restrictions or barriers to hire...
1. gruden
2. petersen
3. kelly
4. patterson
5. Fuente
6. Franklin
7. Frost
8. Mullen

gets dicey after that imo.

rank who i think who's most likely
1. mullen
2. frost
3. the rest tied.

nb4 tl/dr.

I do think we are constitutionally different from the others. I believe that we are the ones who remember that we are one of the most storied programs in college football. We remember a time when there was swagger involved with being a Tennessee fan. We remember a time when, if we were down by 4 and Peyton got the ball back on his own 20 with a minute twenty seconds left, you had full confidence he could drive it those 80 yards. We are the ones who believe that a coach of the highest caliber, the single most sought after coach of our time not only would come here, but that the University of Tennessee would be the job he'd pick and want over every other single job on the planet. We are the ones who continue to believe in the strength of our history to propel us forward.

what a GREAT post ! this should be on a plaque somewhere in Neyland Stadium for all Vols fans to read !

I don’t know what to do with this Mullen stuff? I really don’t want him.

They will bite your head off out there. They LOVE Mullen. I call him Butchie 2.0, essentially twins. KnuckleVol did come to my defense out there last night. I like him even more now.

Those dropping M flavored turds in here-Stop! No M****n talk today! Not after the night we had yesterday.

I got to go shopping now...but I’m watching you..

Stupid mullenites can't dream big. They can't imagine a life better than the one they already have. I genuinely feel sorry for them.

I LOVE this post, very eloquently sums up my feelings. Nice work!

I'm here guys, trying to catch up with what happened.... been traveling and couldn't get online....

I may give up soon and just come say good morning :hi:

I was worried when I didn't see you last night. Even wondered over to the RF when someone mentioned you might be there. It's scary in the RF. 🤤

Why would we offer Chip when we have been negotiating with Gruden since the Georgia game?

You can turn down interest in a program without being offered a contract. I almost definitely believe that while putting time and effort into Gruden we half assed talks with Kelly late and he passed on Further discussions. We could have been negotiating with both Kelly and Gruden since September but we waited too long for at least one
