I know. I have a brother-in-law who is a Georgia fan, but just kind of. I simply cannot imagine the feeling of betrayal I would feel if one of my kids went to Alabama. It would genuinely break my heart.

Literally every single family member of mine that has graduated from college, graduated from the university of Tennessee.

Yeah that’s just too much....I don’t think I could deal with it, much less visit her. I literally started preparing my kids from the day they were born with orange blankets, sleepers, wall murals and Rocky Top lullabies.

I'm a third generation legacy, but want my kids at the best school that will pay them to be there.

Tuition costs ain't no joke.

Found out yesterday one of our daughters has been accepted into UT Medical School out in Memphis.

Both girls are in Vandy undergrad (I know, I know...I really know!), so getting one of them into Orange and White is a really big win for me in the household. Heh.

Well, she hasn't decided if that's the med school she will pick yet, but I'm working on it. :good!:

Full Scholarship with a 10k stipend for her extra-curricular is hard to turn down. Hate to admit it, but they have an excellent educational program and are exploding with new construction on campus.

Every penny they pay Nick Saban is well worth it to the University. They have money pouring in.

That’s awesome!! Proud for you her and your family! Just bring her home when she’s done!

Hell, my brother went to Auburn Vet School and remember being pissed about it. Lol

I get that. I just can't imagine that Bama is paying something Tennessee isn't. Or any other school on the planet isn't.

We were the same, until my kids. Oldest got accepted to Columbia and we could not tell him no. Then daughter gets an Academic full ride and and the stipend for Speech. Life works in mysterious ways!...

The funny thing is my son converted a bunch of New York City kids into Vol fans! However, I have told my daughter to never wear Orange on campus....(Tennessee may be down, but they still hate us :) )

Most pertinent thing in this whole thread, imo.

Go Vols!!!!!

I know most people never even know where their doctor went to med school. I do. If you went to Memphis you get a big bump up the ladder from me.

Congrats. You should be very proud. Memphis has gotten extremely difficult to get into.

Well done, Mom and dad....sounds like you guys did well! I hope my kids go down that same path....except for the Bama thing.

Just like Gruden, we have a plan in place to bring her home!! :)

One of my best friends in high school was a huge Tennessee fan like me. Lots of family history within the university, etc. She got a full ride to swim at bama and took it. It was going to cost her family next to nothing for her to go to Tennessee, but for her it was the principal of getting the scholarship that made the difference.

I'm still hurt by this betrayal 21 years later.

I do think we are constitutionally different from the others. I believe that we are the ones who remember that we are one of the most storied programs in college football. We remember a time when there was swagger involved with being a Tennessee fan. We remember a time when, if we were down by 4 and Peyton got the ball back on his own 20 with a minute twenty seconds left, you had full confidence he could drive it those 80 yards. We are the ones who believe that a coach of the highest caliber, the single most sought after coach of our time not only would come here, but that the University of Tennessee would be the job he'd pick and want over every other single job on the planet. We are the ones who continue to believe in the strength of our history to propel us forward.

Stupid mullenites can't dream big. They can't imagine a life better than the one they already have. I genuinely feel sorry for them.

This. Absolutely this. Perfectly stated, SFD.

I can’t wait! Soon!

Oh, we are. Thanks, SFD.

I'm just ready to stop hearing my 79 year old father (a lifelong Tennessee fan, btw) say "anchor down" to my daughters. I question his allegiance. Hehe. Once they're out of Vandy and into grad schools, I'm thinking he'll stop that, the old coot.

First time poster here, and I have to admit that I am a recent bama grad. Applying to school, UT gave me nothing but Alabama gave me full ride and that 10k stipend for room and board. Hard to pass up. Needless to say I made my presence as a die hard Tennessee fan known on that campus for the past 4 years. They didn’t take to kindly too a UT fan taking up a seat in their student section wearing orange every week. As hard as it is to say, bama does have phenomenal facilities and education. That being said.... SOON!!!
