Most people over 50 aren’t making 6 million per year commentating football 1 day per week for a few hours. Compare that to being a college football coach who is working 365 days per week

That does not matter to successful people with “fire in their belly”. I know an architect that was a “fat cat” enjoying life and not working a day. Had the “itch” to develop a high end first of its kind residential project in a major city in the US. He put his life savings into it, worked every day, 20 hours a day, for 5 years straight, to make it happen. It was highly successful. He didn’t need to do it, but he wanted the challenge of something different and did it.

I don’t know Gruden, but safe to say most of us on here don’t. Who are we to question, why or why not?

Yes in deed Jon Gruden will coach the Baxter Bee's before he coaches Tennessee VOLS, i wish he would come here but alot of the fan base in in for a big let down if they are counting on him we will be going after Dan and charlie but we won't back the truck up like alway's for some reason Tennessee won't pay the money to get the so called big name to come here plus Jon has it made at ESPN now he will get another raise to put him over 7 million a year at ESPN.:thud:

If any fans of "The Office" recall Dwight acting like he had a better offer the day Michael needs to fire someone, that's what the ESPN/Gruden deal is like. They need him gone. They are making massive cuts and may drop the NFL, yet posters like this think they'd give him a raise? No way on earth. They'd love for a big salary to walk on his terms.

There appears to be more doubt on the Beav front, which I don’t understand? It’s clear Beav and Bubba are connected and without them, I’m sure we’d be talking about gag me with a spoon coaches like Mike Bobo. Have some respect.

For the why would he want to do (fill in the blank) crowd?

For those of you 50 and older that have had some success in your chosen field. Is there something you haven’t done that you still want to do or at least say you tried? Successful people aren’t afraid to fail. They aren’t ones to be content with “Cushy” jobs. They seek new adventures. This is why Gruden would want to do it and what better place to do it than some place you love.

This may be the Truthiest reason for Gruden to come than any other I have read! :salute:
