Kiffin: Here’s another guy who’s went on record to say he would do things differently if he could. Do I believe him, he’ll no. He’s nothing more than a used car salesman. Someone said he just wants to build his character up to get a chance in the league. I’ll buy that.

Not entirely correct on Patterson. He said in an interview that he and his wife had dinner with "folks form Tennessee" and felt "they didn't think I could win the big game." He also stated that he felt the decision to hire Kiffin had already been made when they met. I think he would listen if we called.

With all due respect to you and others, this hire will not break our program, because its already broken. We have no coach and rumors are flying fast and furious as to who will lead us to the promised land. As for me, I hope we get Gruden, but I will believe it when I see it. If not then I will put my faith, until otherwise proven wrong, that the AD will hire the best coach possible using advice given to him by Manning and other highly respected people that are the bedrock of UT Football.

Wait - saw earlier that someone posted that JG hasn't coached in a decade?! Did anyone know this?! Glad that someone gave us this revelation - now we can shut down the talks with him so we can get someone that has coached more.

Not a press release, necessarily, but the news will break before the press conference. It won't be a surprise when the new coach walks up to the podium. Once an agreement is reached and a coach is in place, various people within the AD are informed so necessary preparations can be made, and news leaks pretty quickly.

Maybe my expectations for amicable discussion are sky high and should not be. Anonymity does breed animosity since there are no real ramifications.

I just spend 20-30 hours a month teaching youth to be respectful and how to discuss points and counterpoints without calling names and those 10-15 year olds do a better job than many on here lol.

No one believes UT football begins and ends with one man. However, many do believe that there is one route to immediate credibility that is far more desirable and effective than any other route.

OMG I'm at home sick as at the house. I called into work yesterday that I shouldn't come in Monday. I in between jobs have WNML on. I missed this great sound clip of Will West. Can someone explain the context of boosters saying Gruden is a done deal. Was this like "I've heard from someone who said a booster said"? Or was it "a booster told me"!

I read this and like Lazarus I was resurrected from the couch.

Can you imagine the reception you would get if it's not Gruden? I wouldn't even want to think about it. If Gruden is not in the bag by now, I doubt you would be getting any sleep at night.

The next coach, if not Gruden, better have some really thick skin because UT fans are gonna wear him out :):):)
