I will say this about Beav and leave it at that ... he told me to DM him Friday night about golfing after I made the reference my picture shows me at the Honors... we have DM'd a few times since and talked about golfing and courses from here to Florida.... he sincerely invited me to play a round with him and we even swapped email addresses to set it up.... Beav is no troll completely 100% agree with HFG description of his role

Up and down, round and round.

This thread is awesome. You never know what the mood will be when you check in.

You have folks confident in their sources, others looking for hope, only the good lord knows how many lurkers, trolls, know-it-all's, and others who don't have a clue. Pessimists, optimists, evangelist, athiest, and some who just don't give a crap.
Some that hang onto every word, post skimmers, and begging for info for those that try to lead a normal life but have to get their daily fix. This thread has it's own CSI team. Rich folks, po' folks, and everything in between.

This place is nuts and it's gonna suck when it's over no matter who is announced.

Ride or die for Gruden 'til the end.

My spooky story of MIT_Beaver:

The original MIT_Beaver got doxxed, the mods took down his posts and deleted his account to protect his identity. Some troll re-made his account and is the new MIT_Beaver. This is why his tone and message shifted suddenly as he returned.

(This is parody, don't take it seriously please.)

So what you're saying is Richard Grayson took over for Bruce Wayne as Batman is what we got going on here

That's a shame, sorry to hear it. People laugh when I say some of the best seafood I have ever had in my life was in Blue Ridge, but it was legit!

If you are in the area, his brother Jamie has Jolly Rogers in Ellijay that is just as good.

I hear you, but after today, I am putting more hope in you than other posters. Plus, AV seemed to be suggesting that there was a chance Gruden might not happen.

Trust me, I'm a fan like you so I completely understand the hopeless feeling. Just realize that Atlanta is an incredibly good guy who we frankly don't deserve to have. To have a fairly influential booster taking time out of his day and business interests to give us updates is something very few fanbases have. He's never going to purposely mislead us, and he is getting his information firsthand unlike every other "insider" here including me.

I think if AV didn't feel somewhat close to 100% confident then he would do everything he could to soften the blow. The last thing they want is for this Grumor Volcano to continue to bubble over if it wasn't a realistic possibility. No one involved in this would want unrealistic expectations that cannot be met as it would only lead to an unhappy and restless fanbase. It does seem from his post however that this deal isn't signed despite what people (including me) have heard.

My one word of advice as a fan is to pay close attention to Jon Gruden tomorrow. He will undoubtedly be directly asked by the Seattle and NFL media about this opening, the Raiders, and the Bucs. If he has decided over the weekend that he is no longer interested then he'll put it to rest. Tomorrow starts a new media cycle & no sane non-narcissistic person would allow this to go on for another cycle if it is over. That would not only be unfair to us, but more importantly Cindy and his son who is at UT.

Lastly, I believe this quote from AV's post is very important and lines up with what almost anyone with legitimate info has said: Timing is a huge issue with this hire regardless of whether Gruden has said yes or not.

6. There is a sense of urgency to get this done as quickly as possible but you can’t force someone’s hand purely with $$$. If it were that easy we would have someone already.

I think this is where we are. It's the only thing that makes sense for me, with the last big recruiting push coming ahead of early signing.

Let’s not forget that official visits had been “on hold” since the Georgia game, until last week. They scheduled several visits for the Vandy game but none for the LSU game.

Why would they not schedule any for the LSU game? Peyton Manning and the ‘97 SEC Championship team was there. Seems like a great recruiting opportunity (minus the rain)... That, to me, says there is something about the Vandy game that recruits will be very interested in.

EDIT: This is assuming they didn’t know about the storm when they scheduled the visits. If they knew how bad it would be, that would explain why they didn’t schedule any.

my stance is only my own personal stance. Several times today i've been asked how i feel about one or another piece of negative news.

I was simply stating that my responses are all gonna be the same unless we hear from currie or gruden. Didn't mean for that to be harsh, just letting y'all know i'm going to be a broken record. :)

so tomorrow if ron swanson says he thinks we don't get gruden, i'm gonna respond the same way. And if hubbs comes out and says he thinks we missed on gruden, i'm gonna respond the same way. If atlanta vol comes out and says we aren't getting gruden...

...i'm gonna wait a few minutes to see if a presser is pending. And if it's not, i'm going to say the exact same thing.

We got our man. :)

lol.....my man!

my $.02 and TIFWIW...........Gruden is taking the job and out of respect of his potential staff getting bombarded with speculative questions with a week left in the season, he’s holding off the announcement until next week. No denial and too much smoke is out there.
