I didn't justify the fan's behaviour, agree with it or say that it was okay. My point is that that's what you are signing up for as AD at any SEC school who's fan base is intent on returning to relevance. When you get 100,000 people together there will always be a few ***holes in the crowd - Vol fans or not.

Well say what you mean and mean what you say

Ok.. this crap has to stop. Currie looks petrified. Disgusting.. Flippin stalking and badgering on concourse ..The Moonbat’s twitter address @RollTitanz . Feel free to express thoughts on on twitter Can go to address and View video

On Mike and Mike Gruden stated that his life is all about his family and football. The timing is right. It just makes sense. He’s coming. I have zero inside info. Lots of smart people in these threads have connected the dots. Insiders have given their best insight. There’s plenty of smoke and zero denials. But more than anything, just like Saban finally said yes to Alabama because of his wife, Gruden will do the same for Tennessee. I believe that in my heart.

You're right...the amount of audio/video of him COMPLETELY skirting the issue over the last couple of days is mind-boggling! I mean not even a half-assed denial, "Sorry guys, I don't know if you've noticed, but I currently have a job". Not even something like that. And if you allow yourself to attempt to read between the lines, there's tons of stuff like Huard last night at the end of the game...no Gruden discussion during the game, and when his co-announcer brings it up in the final seconds, and directly asks Huard about his thoughts and his comments about Rocky Top on his radio show, it's met with uncomfortable silence...probably just a few seconds worth, but it seemed so awkward, and evident that he was going to say NOTHING. This kind of stuff is what drives me crazy.

Watching this thread when I can I must admit can be pretty entertaining. Trying to catch up on a flight as we speak. Couple of bullet points to keep some folks that have really bad information in check here...and that’s really all I can do at this point again have to protect the university, the process, and my relationship with it. Everyone will know when we have a new hire...

1. Gruden was not at Calhouns yesterday.
2. Currie primarily flies commercial on UT business..guy is a hustler and should be respected for that.
3. No need to ever track wheels up planes those are not being used for UT business
4. The vast majority of meetings are NOT happening in any location that would “make sense” (Ie, Knoxville etc)
5. Great lengths have been gone into keeping the tail numbers etc that are being used different from ones that have really ever been posted in here before. Take into account my company alone has 5 planes now that may or may not be used all of which none of those tails are known...so imagine how many others are out there. Additionally usually the registration of said planes are done with essentially phony LLC’s in states other than where the planes are used or kept that have no connection to anything that could ever get traced back to an individual.
6. There is a sense of urgency to get this done as quickly as possible but you can’t force someone’s hand purely with $$$. If it were that easy we would have someone already.

I hope everyone who was able to go to game yesterday enjoyed the experience as much as possible. I was bummed that the weather sucked....first time in box for entire game for me in a long time.

I am around a bit today relaxing preparing to turn and burn for the holiday week...I wish each and everyone of you and your families a wonderful thanksgiving holiday. Take time to hug your wife, kids, and parents if they are still around. That’s what its all about.

My hopes and dreams are to get on the first page of the official Gruden Threads. 0 for 38 so far. Oh well, will keep refreshing non stop all day.

I started one of the 2012 Gruden threads. It was a watershed moment in my VolNation experience.

No, not really. But it was pretty cool. :)

TBH, yeah I've seen some people making post about how the team is still playing poorly and that it can't be blamed on Butch anymore.

How do they explain how we got to this point then??? 5 years of Butch's coaching can't be reversed in a week. People need to wake up!

Heh, thanks. :hi:

It gets really fun when you start shuffling cards around that appear important to the leaker(s), but which are entirely controlled by you.

Like having different people leaking each of the nuggets.

Like getting people into the room who are known and trusted agents...so it appears to the leaker that he has even MORE cover from other possible sources, when really there were only 2 people in the roomful of staff who were under suspicion.

Like varying the ways the info is disseminated...so nugget A coming out during a formal sit-down, but nugget B being overheard near the water cooler by chance.

All these variables make things seem safer for the leaker, though in reality each variable is under your control.

Interesting.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. I know most of us here are thankful you are here- in more ways than one.

Vols would outbid the Bucs all day

Yeah, I was surprised that college coaches can make more than their NFL counterparts. Pete Carroll is the highest paid NFL coach at just over $8 million a year. Kelly was making $6 million with the 49ers. But I guess it stands to reason that college coaches work WAY harder than the pros...I mean in college, there is no off season!

I apologize for asking a stupid question I’ve been working here for a long time and still do not know what this means.

I hope so. If there were nothing to any of this, I would like to think Gruden would have shut it down a while ago. Knowing the fever pitch this fan base it at, I think he's at least been seriously considering the job or he probably would have shut it down already. I don't see the consideration of the UT job as leverage for him in getting another TV gig or NFL job. But I'm wrong a lot. Just ask the wife.

Does all big business get done like this? That's an awful lot of subterfuge from us plebs

Came on just in time for this. Means I can probably let the thread go for the day, doesn't sound like much new news. However, it does sound like there's A TON of secrecy actually going on.
