We reported yesterday on the boards that we were beginning to feel extremely confident that Chip Kelly would be the guy based on info we were hearing and that the two sides were pretty much on the same page when it came to everything he'd need to make the program successful.

The one thing potentially holding things up appeared to be making sure Kelly doesn't void his buyout money from the NFL based on the wording of his contracts. That's taken time to sift through, but everything should be good to go there.

At this point, we have a handful of sources indicating that Florida and Kelly or his reps are meeting this afternoon. We believe that meeting is to get Kelly to sign off on the agreement, making this thing official.

youre right i dont. Never once thought about getting it. I appreciate when theres legit stuff brought here but i dont go out looking for it or think about it. Plus lately Hubbs is finessing everyone. Telling you nothing and youre paying for it. Just saw them on here. But yes schiano, Norvell, fedora are pathetic names. Stay at it Big Zit.

The thing about Schiano is, UT wants to hire a sitting P5 HC. But the coaching market is going to be more competitive than anticipated. We're going to have to compete for coaches we thought we could get at a good value. The landscape shifted. If we drop down to the G5 tier, I think we'll give top coordinators a look, as well, and see who's the best candidate available.

I don’t think Hubbs believes a meeting happened. I think fear got the best of him and he drove down there because he felt he was out of the loop.

Interesting that Ramey and Brice have had zero follow up after that scoop.

Eliminates a lot of candidates.

I could also see Jumbo Fisher. He may want to start his clock all over rather than risk getting fired next year.
