Jimmy Hyams (I know, I know but the downside to Grudenmania)

"I had a very prominent booster tell me that 2 coaches, that you would expect to be on a Tennessee search list, already say they had no interest in the UT coaching position. And they specifically cited the Gruden or bust hype"

Who knows if the booster is telling the truth.
I guess if I was a coach though, the fanbase reception and patience level would be at least a concern.

Then you don’t want them here.

Not that anyone cares, but this is where I am today.

Gruden- Excited, is it August yet?

Marrone, Patterson, Petersen, Fisher, Malzahn- All would be very exciting

Mullen, Taggart, Frost, Campbell- more risk, but still happy

Schiano- I could get behind

Norvell- If he hires a good defensive staff, I will be onboard.

Morris, Bobo- meh

For whatever reason, if we miss on a big name hire I am to the the point I want us to get Taggart. Their run defense has improved 100 spots in a year and he has taken a soft lockerroom and changed the culture. We need that. Recruiting would be no issue for him either.

I think we need to take Gruden off these kinds of lists - seems like we are being sent a very loud and straightforward message through various media outlets that he is no longer a candidate. (Although I agree I’d be stoked with him!)

Otherwise I agree with your list.

Atlanta Vol has been confirmed to be legit with a situation with OGs daughter and another poster here went to the game last night with tickets provided from ATL. His status should have zero skepticism at this point.

Not my daughter. It was orangeblood79’s daughter, Ashlee.

That pisses me off if true. Get over Jon freaking Gruden. The dude is not coming.

I don’t think it’s true, or if it is, it’s BS. I refuse to take anyone who is well-known for comically late reporting seriously.

I think the Knoxville sports media overall is panicking because their cash cow is about to walk off the plank, and with it their ad revenue and subscriptions. So, instead, they push the message that we’re whiny and spoiled and that we should be happy watching s@$ football in the house that Neyland, Dickey, Majors, and Fulmer built.

I haven't wanted to reveal this prior to avoid stirring the pot, but I have one family member close to the search. My Uncle owns one of the largest media sources covering the search. It has consumed him quite a bit, and he is usually very tight lipped regarding info he gets. Last night watching the game he apparently got a little inebriated and texted my dad some info he later asked him to keep confidential. The jist of the message was that Gruden wanted the holiday to think about the offer, and Currie is doubtful. Patterson is plan B but boosters are less enthusiastic about throwing money at him to the same degree.
If the wishbone doesn't break our way look for a large helping of Mulled Corn.
Tifwiw.

Not a legit excuse for a coach that is willing to change his address. If he’s willing to take a new job then the fans wanting a winner (Gruden) won’t stop him.

Still would be beneficial to everyone if Gruden came out and said thanks but no thanks. That's what I honestly just don't understand. He's hurting us and he's going to be disliked if he draws this thing out and then turns us down.

Indeed. And isn't it amazing how little pressure our local media has put on our AD for its multitude of failures?

Next time he’s in town let him know.

Look at this. GTFO with the fans are the problem.

Lol. And yet Rovell tweets a negative tweet about our attendance and now the media is taking shots at a passionate fan base. GTFOH. Blood is boiling over such stupid ****.

Our fans have been our worst enemy at times over the last 10 years.

Then how about we all just go take our money and leave. The AD seems happy to hear from me when I call. Screw anyone blaming our fans. Those hacks can’t get real jobs and were not sitting through that freaking hurricane like conditions watching guys not wanting to hit anyone in the second half.

IMO even that wouldn't cool it off. People would just point to Saban. It wont stop until the podium one way or another.

I pretty well agree with the list also...less gruden...laughable

I could see a difference in a fanbase that wants A WINNER.
And a fan base that believes there is only ONE WINNER.
