The Mullen debate has made me sound anti Mullen because he wasn't my first choice. But not true. I think he's a really good coach and agree with those who say he has an extremely high floor.

I think this is the only pic that exists of Saban pre-1990 or so.

I offered to buy one off of him, but he said he would need about 2 months to mull it over. Last time I checked he mentioned something about also needing to buy pics of his assistant coaches.

To me, the timing looks like Gruden would need to be given till maybe Thanksgiving. Mississippi Plays Miss St. at 7:30 Eastern Time (Mullen). UCF plays at 3:30 on Friday (Frost).

If we don't get an answer by then (or at least have a very high degree of confidence that he is indeed coming), we will get behind our competitors for some of our top candidates real quick.

If he is mulling it now then we still wouldn’t know if he said yes on thanksgiving or before though. Same for Mullen. If he said yes on Friday we wouldn’t know til after we play. They simply are not gonna do that.

Schiano was 68-67 at Rutgers with 28-48 in conference. Then followed it with 11-21 at TB. It was a bad Rutgers and a good turnaround by him. But the conference record is the tale of the tape for me. We are now at the bottom like they were (again) and will be going against SEC competition versus the B10 he faced. Maybe he is a James Franklin for all I know.
