You guys think a mans family isnt going to have a say in this...lol
You think Tennessee isnt a pressure cooker

Yes...Yes...I look for a college or pro coordinator or the best of the second tier....get used to it...............and it might as well be an offensive minded one so take you best picks

I said earllier....list your top 6 picks......cross out the top 4 and compare the percentages of most of those posters on this board and you may be shocked at which coach comes out with the highest percentage.....yes you got it.....Norvell

so you better hope for a better surprise

That high % is also a small sample size.

Still believe it’s going to be Gruden. Nothing on my list is really impacted by insiders talk. If it’s going to be Gruden then my theory is that it won’t leak until after the season. Meaning there will be misdirection and stalling until it finally happens out of nowhere.

I still have a ton of things lining up that make me believe.

I 100% believe Catbone. I believe he was here this week. And he was here unseen. Unlike the South Carolina game where he strutted around town being a boss.

LWS confirmed that he was in East TN the week of the So Miss game. Supposedly this was predicted by Hutch 7. If it was him that said it would have then that gives credence to Hutch and the things he has said.

Gruden showed up on campus this year for a game which has never happened.

The announcement isn’t coming until 11/26 at the earliest imo. No matter who we target and ultimately hire. I think it will be Gruden on 11/28. Until then we will get misdirection and denials. Also Gruden gave the “sensitive to coaches doing their job” comment. No hire til after the season is over.

I believe that Gruden bought that house. Nobody even knew that house was on the market and then we hear he bought it. Hank brought that here before I saw it anywhere. Days before it spread as I recall.

If you believe the report by 247 then he did that interview and brought up UT after hearing our pitch. He asked to not be asked about coaching vacancies and then brings up how much he loves rocky top.

Espn is going to have to cut his pay.

He said on Eisen show that his contract is not guaranteed. You know what is? A coaching contract.

He has a huge ego and college coaches are rock stars. In the NFL, the players are the stars.

His wife is from here and his son goes to school here.

He’s been around this program more in the past 5 years than ever before.

Timing is right for him this time.

UT knows it has to go big this time. $340m renovation on deck and it’s not getting done with a mosquito hire.

I was ok with Taggart until I read the article that reminded me he had some conditioning issues at Oregon at the beginning of the year. I’m off now. Reminded me of something Butch would do.

If you believe the message board rumors, Butch did the exact opposite, letting players skate by with minimal effort in the S&C program. I agree that multiple players ending up with compartment syndrome from conditioning work does raise an eyebrow though.

Norvell is nowhere near my top 6.

Just don't think Currie is going to hitch his wagon to a 2nd yr group of 5 coach. I believe he will go coordinator route first. Thus Schiano. You get P5 experience and HBC experience. Also a top recruiter. I figure he was offered a couple of jobs last season. Probably Purdue for sure.

That high % is also a small sample size.

go ahead...list your top 6 and cross out your top 4 and see if Norvell isnt #5 or #6 on that list....

I would say if you took the sample size from most of this board you would be shocked

Any of the upper echelon of coaches would require mega bucks to come here...i dare say many of the coaches family would turn it down and say it isnt worth it

So what are you left with....you got it...an up and comer...congratulations

These peoples Gruden thing is just pipe dreams....pipe dreams I tell you...
Its nonsense....total nonsense....how do they continue to tell this stuff...

@ClayTravis: SEC records over the past six seasons: Kevin Sumlin 25-22, Dan Mullen 24-23. I know, I know, A&M is a better job than Mississippi State, but isn't it wild that Mullen is considered a top coaching target and A&M wants to fire Sumlin?

This is why the Mullen hype is so silly.

He's an average coach.

i think Taggart would kill it. That doesnt mean thats who i want as my first couple choices but i think his offense would be scary here with the types of players he would be able to get. I know kids love the guy too.

his record isn't that great to look at, but I agree I think he's got an "It" factor.
