Summary: I'm a bit less sure "we got him" now than I was before AV's latest revelations.

So this screams to me Plan A--Gruden and Plan B--Patterson (or insert your favorite other guess).

But then, I got to thinking...it could be on a different paradigm than that. What if it is Plan A--Gruden announced next Monday, Plan B--Gruden announced after SEC CG. Or Plan A--Gruden+Tee&Dale, Plan B--Gruden+__[insert other OC/DC names]__.

So this second revelation, after the step back from the first, above, neither thrills nor concerns me. It's just too vague to have any meaning for me. Just mildly reassuring that there is a Plan B (but isn't there always a Plan B, among capable people?).

So bottom line: I always enjoy an AV visit, and appreciate him for what he's done for folks here on the board. Also appreciate his news, even if it's sometimes about as easy to interpret as the Voynich Manuscript.

For the 'plan after the plan' thing, he could be talking about the future of the program as a whole, having a coach in waiting or something of that nature.

With all the trolling Kiffin has been doing I think we can safely assume he isn't even an option. After what AV said today maybe the announcement will come after Vandy, but I'm hoping we hear something about a presser today to line up with what exile was saying last night.

I'm sure Exile will be in to say something different or it wasn't a for sure thing.

The main difference in SFD and I, besides her being a woman and I'm a guy...and the 1.4 terabytes worth of files she has on the Gruden search, is she goes on the analysis of data she has in hand and has heard. I look for the hidden nuances and "what if" scenarios along with the human element. She's an engineer by education (if I remember correctly) and would use empirical data to support her conclusions. I am a former cop and investigator by trade and learned to take human emotions and motivations into play along with reading between the lines. Mine isn't an exactly science, but more of a "hmm, didn't think of that angle, let me look at that" path. Not tooting my own horn, but I learned to look at multiple paths and processes at the same time in my head very analytically. But also from the mental side of things. The "this is what I'd do" side of the house.

Sometimes it works, sometimes I have to start back from scratch. Just something to think about and why poor Jimmy might be bumbling about in the dark so much.

I am with you GV. Been in law enforcement 20 plus years with 15 of that being in investigations. Man, you really learn a different side of people in this line of work!
