No signal just wanted to get somethings out there to help people save their gas money trying to drive out to Tac Air to catch a glimpse of something....

There is a clear plan and a clear plan beyond that first plan all of which I am comfortable with...all won’t be but we know what they say about opinions.

AV can you clear up one last rumor? The email leaked last night..real, fake, or can't discuss?

Agreed. However in this type of negotation the potential employee holds the cards...not the employer. So if that employee wants x...he will get x or more because he knows that employer wants said employee.

In my world (business not personal) if i want something...I will pay for it...regardless if it is overvalued at the time or not...if the expected long term value could be more beneficial than price paid for said services.

I was thinking more along the lines of a merger rather than a personnel hiring. You have two brand names that both feel will be beneficial to each of the individuals if the deal goes through. Exxon-Mobile comes to mind.

People are looking for discrepancies in Atl's post, but look at what lines up:
1) Money isn't an issue.
2) Gruden is still number 1
3) We have their second choice all but locked down, they know it won't be as great as their top pick, but enough are behind it to make it work. Hopefully isn't Mullen, but sounds more that way than "Everyone love the 2nd hire."

All of these things we've heard before and fit the general template of what's been happening. We know there are some small things Gruden is hung up on, and the change in lifestyle is a MUCH bigger change than people are giving credit.

All in all, we've been on the right track with some noise in between. The power of the populace to bring together information is pretty crazy. The only thing perhaps completely whiffed was the planes.
 
In all honesty if he’s mulling over a deal that sounds to be worth 10mil a year for a guy who hasn’t coached in 10, claims to love UT and who has pondered it previously **** him!

I’d never beg a girl to go out with me it self destructing and lowers self esteem, we are a huge job, great resources and phenomenal fans/history/stadium... I’d tell him to get lost and hope MNF gets cancelled.

Its business too, not just personal. Like a date with a girl.
 
Let’s remember something. I am not here to dispel any particular posters information. You never know who someone is so it is not my place to say someone is wrong and call them out. Let’s all be civil and humane..hiding behind usernames and anonymity on the internet doesn’t give anyone the right to talk poorly of someone or call them names.

I am simply sharing my thoughts on the process and how these things are handled. I did want to specifically help people with some things i had heard or seen in last few days to try and keep everyone from spending their entire day trying to track planes and chase meaningless information that folks are coming in here with simply to stir stuff up.

Can u tell us the deadline for plan A?

Now the Oakland job is another thing for me to worry about. Tampa Bay and Oakland.....crap!

Watching this thread when I can I must admit can be pretty entertaining. Trying to catch up on a flight as we speak. Couple of bullet points to keep some folks that have really bad information in check here...and that’s really all I can do at this point again have to protect the university, the process, and my relationship with it. Everyone will know when we have a new hire...

1. Gruden was not at Calhouns yesterday.
2. Currie primarily flies commercial on UT business..guy is a hustler and should be respected for that.
3. No need to ever track wheels up planes those are not being used for UT business
4. The vast majority of meetings are NOT happening in any location that would “make sense” (Ie, Knoxville etc)
5. Great lengths have been gone into keeping the tail numbers etc that are being used different from ones that have really ever been posted in here before. Take into account my company alone has 5 planes now that may or may not be used all of which none of those tails are known...so imagine how many others are out there. Additionally usually the registration of said planes are done with essentially phony LLC’s in states other than where the planes are used or kept that have no connection to anything that could ever get traced back to an individual.
6. There is a sense of urgency to get this done as quickly as possible but you can’t force someone’s hand purely with $$$. If it were that easy we would have someone already.

I hope everyone who was able to go to game yesterday enjoyed the experience as much as possible. I was bummed that the weather sucked....first time in box for entire game for me in a long time.

I am around a bit today relaxing preparing to turn and burn for the holiday week...I wish each and everyone of you and your families a wonderful thanksgiving holiday. Take time to hug your wife, kids, and parents if they are still around. That’s what its all about.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. I hope you saw my post about our experience last night. Simply amazing. Thank you so much.

Agreed 100 percent . I tell my clients to make an offer they can’t say no to and beyond what their current can counter and also hit all objections early so no surprises at the end

This might be best thing I have seen - a plan after the initial plan. I know things can/do change that are out of our control, but great news that we are at least trying to plan. I take this as there will be a coach in waiting, and hopefully, a really good one. Maybe Gruden ( or whovever) doesn't want to coach for more than 5 years. I would hate to have to go through this again in 5 years. Thanks for the info and have a great Thanksgiving.

Thanks AV..I have never understood why fans come in here and tear each other down. I understand that some are trolls from other teams..but the large amount of them lately is Vol on Vol crime.

Not really' Currie has 7 days to find a coach, otherwise each passing day hurts UT and UT recruiting. No sense of firing Butch early if not going to hire a guy on the first available date. 7 days and this is over and no one can name the top 3 concensus candidates.

Based off media, kicked the tires on Gruden, Patterson, and Frost.

Money, as you will find with most coaches, is not the problem. It's situation. It's hard to leave a good situation and go into a bad one. Money can't really fix that. You saw that team last night. Gruden probably did too. It's gonna require a lot of work, and a lot of good coaches would probably hesitate to delve into it.

No doubt, but I think the ghost started a landfall with all of those claims of his jet flying, limousine riding, scotch drinking, 5 speed driving, suit wearing, Nantucket visiting escapades. Remember this gem?

"It wasn’t a question of if but when they would fold. Hence my 100% confidence throughout this process. The only uncertainty was of Gruden wanted the job, thankfully he did."
