Why even fire Butch then?

I don’t believe (or don’t want to) that they will hire anyone with out at least 4 years of P5 experience as a head coach.

Come on man. Like Mullen or not there’s no denying he’s better than butch. At least norvell has a QB track record.

In his 5 years at UT and might win the east once.

Everyone saying no to Norvell, have you actually followed what he has done so far?

He hasn't done anything yet to merit consideration for this job.

And I like Norvell. I wanted him as OC when Debord was hired, and think that eventually he will be a very good head coach at a P5 school. If we miss the bus, we miss the bus, but we've got to aim higher.

I certainly understand that, but he has them playing better than Fuente and he has shown to be a better recruiter than Fuente was. I know it's a small window, but I think he would be a great coach.

It is a lot easier to recruit better than Fuente after Fuente created a bunch of positive momentum for that program and brought them national attention in his last year

He has done reasonably well but there is a fear he is riding Fuente's coat-tails this year.

Riding coat tails is a little overrated to me. While i get it to an extent... it doesn’t take very long for coaching ineptitude to show.

Austin Price said Mullen, Norville, or Brohm. Go ahead and dig the hole.

If so, give me Schiano over any of those guys. He'd recruit talent and instill discipline, and that can lead to some titles.

I don't see any P5 coaches falling all over themselves to get the Tennessee job...
Curry may run into the same problem the other AD's did...
Then the coaching search can turn into a long nightmare....
Then you start looking at successful coordinators in college or pro's....
Tennessee is a HIGH PRESSURE job that can turn ugly in a hurry....
Family's are not eager for that...usually just the Norvell and Frost types...the ones needing a step up

I won my family's fantasy football league last year. My mom, my aunt, and the family dog (we needed a tenth) were the other teams to make the playoffs.

He also interviewed for Miami twice before they hired Richt. Probably would’ve gotten it too if Richt didn’t get fired for whatever reason.

Sat out in the rain for the whole game. This is sad, but today was probably the most fun I’ve had in Neyland this season. We shoot ourselves in the foot so much, which with the whole being bad at football related tasks, sure does make getting W’s hard.
