So before this season, perceived 8-10 wins with Jones was "accepting mediocrity" but 8-11 with Mullen is all we dare ask for?
Not following the logic.
Big splash and statement is overrated. Harbaugh was the biggest splash hire the last 5 years and its got them no where. Charlie Strong was a splash at Texas look at that.
The win today is not that impressive to me personally. It's his body of work that's impressive. My only question will Mullen would be can he recruit at the level of UGA and Bama. He'll be able to land top 15 classes easily. We need top ten classes on an annual basis to hang with those programs consistently.
Nick Saban was a big splash
Pete Carroll was a big splash
Urban Meyer was a big splash
Charlie Strong was NOT a big splash. Most of our fans didnt even want him
Harbaugh is 10-3, 10-3 and 8-3 so far this year after only returning 5 starters (1 [ONE] on defense). Returned the fewest starters in FBS. Id say he is doing ok
I would have been cool with Jones having us in that range every year. That'd mean we're competing for championships pretty much every year. After last year I didn't think Jones could do that. I think Mullen can.
Nah. You can look at the last 4 years and compare.
I was actually born in Dallas and considered going to SMU. However, the last few years in football have not been comparable.
