I keep seeing no announcement until after the season but it would make sense to announce before Vandy because they're having a lot of visitors supposedly.

I can't speak t why Jimmy stated what he stated. Cool things down a little? Create a diversion? I mean I just have no idea.

Too many people have expressed talks going on for their not to have been talks. When they are/were no longer serious is open to conjecture.

There are two things that are obvious to me that indicate Gruden not coming.

1. Discussions have been on-going for weeks. Once Jones was fired there is no reason in my mind to not name him coach if he wanted to coach. Surely all the issues can be ironed out over several weeks. We heard two weeks ago everyone was on the same page with what to give him. So why the hold-up? Not logically in my opinion.

2. The amount if information coming out on this entire process. Too much information has been flowing out. Why? its just not logical the amount of details and number of sources putting out the details. Coaching focus on an individual doesn't go this long with this amount of detail being released. Just doesn't make any sense. I believe almost everyone that is saying what they are, are getting that data from someone they trust.

A third item is Currie being so secretive. There is no doubt that he is. How do the two items above mesh with that approach?

Just doesn't make sense.. I know the Grudenites will have comments on why it does make sense but not to me.

I want Grudes here. I think it would be amazing, he would kill it as his work ethic and energy is well documented. I just believe zero insiders on anonymous message boards who either have bad motives or hear handed down info much like the telephone game.

Do i believe he is our next coach? Most likely not. Do i believe we get a good/great hire? I sincerely do. Who will it be? Right now no clue as that is how the AD is playing it. Is it fun to read all the ridiculous rumors? Of course but i keep it all at arm's reach. I was all in in 2012 now i know better.

Go Vols give dem corn dog tigers hell!

I’m telling y’all...I’ve said it multiple times. Not only has LWS not shot this thing down, but he absolutely knows Gruden has already signed the contract! He has been asked to continue playing his role on message boards to give extremely low percentages that Gruden takes the deal, because that is how everyone knows him. If he were to post a % anywhere over 50%, everyone would know Gruden is already locked in.

I am around 50% and enjoying the fun and ride. I love the info that everyone brings so from those who don't believe at all to all who are 100% don't be a party pooper. Just ride and enjoy the most unusual coach search ever seen in college football. GBO!! AND OH DON"T FORGET THERE IS A GAME TODAY ! :eek:lol:

Well there goes the narrative that Blackburn’s intentions arent good. He wouldn’t do that to a close friend. Also gives credence to the fact that Gruden probably did reach out to Blackburn about some type of role, or in the least just to talk about the potential deal.

Obviously, we may come out and get dominated up front but i do think we will see a very enthused team that wants to fight.

The problem with announcing Gruden right after Butch is fired is that it makes it official Currie was working behind Butch’s back. Not the message a new AD or any AD wants to send. It seems like forever, but it hasn’t even been a week since Butch was fired.
