Which guy is more annoying?

1. “He ain’t coming”
2. “How many college games has he won”
3. “He was just above 500 in nfl with players that weren’t his”
4. “He’s never recruited”

Edit: for the record I am talking about in your daily life when you bring up the coaching search in conversation with people. Not on this board. I don’t think we have many people on here that fall into 3 or 4.

Yeah how easily they forget:

Saban and spurrier sucked in NFL

Pete Carrol was a great NFL DC but bad HC before his USC dynasty

Mel Tucker was a meh in NFL and. Owna star at UGA

Gruden hasn't coached a game but he has stayed in football and teaching the entire time. He watches film at 4am every morning restructuring his offense preparing for a return. He can surraound himself with college veterans. If he has the resources he will succeed

I say we keep Hoke as interim for all of next year if we can't hire Gruden.

I would take Hoke over most of the names being thrown out like Brohm, Norvell, Morris, Bobo etc...

If no Gruden or other Tier 1's sign me up for Hoke. Give him $ for an elite staff and we'd certainly be better off than we have been for quite some time.

But Gruden will be the coach.

No, he has been the DC in 6 BCS national championship games and could be 7 after this year. He is a tremendous recruiter too and has been in the South long enough to recruit GA, TN, and NC well. You may could get an A+ DL coach like Marion Hobby to come to Tennessee from Jacksonville since they were at Clemson all those years together.

Or bring dan brooks back. He lives in seveirville

Every candidate is a compete guess. No matter what. Ppl lose sight of that.

I think A&M pulls the trigger on him.

Although to be honest, I'd love to see Mike Leach at A&M. Seems like a perfect fit.

It's hard to pick just one, they're all incredibly annoying and stupid. But in my daily life it's people not believing he's coming and thinking I'm crazy for even suggesting it. It's going to bring me great satisfaction seeing their faces when it does happen.

I have found that people who are positive outlook, have faith and think the best tend to be the happiest.

For those "worried" for us if he doesn't come, I would say the people with the positive outlook tend to handle disappointment pretty well.

Guy asked last night why Dale Jones and this was my response.....



But left out that Dale Jones was a player here while JG was a GA here. Trust factor.

Trust factor is big in coaching and business. We all griped myself included about the greatest staff in America. But they all had worked together for a long time including with Lawson.

Those teams played hard and the staff knew Butch and worked hard for him. Didn’t change anything about poor in game decisions at critical times but this started deteriorating rapidly with the coaching changes. The last two years many reports of coaches not getting along. The chemistry of the staff became imbalanced and had much to do with what happened to Butch. Still his fault because he made those decisions.

I just hope the show is legitimate. I’ll be annoyed if Jimmy was right all along and no one quashed it from the beginning.

My take is lots of people are trying to shoot it down but people aren’t listening to them.

I personally can’t tell what’s real or fake on the rumors but I’m guessing it’s much more fake than real. But it’s fascinating to watch and I’d love to be wrong!

they are stupid and annoying bc they dont have the same opinion as you? i mean im sure most of us would love to see the guy here but that doesnt mean we have to believe it will happen. Would love to be wrong.

If we are going retread coaching hires take Sumlin. He has actually beat bama and out recruited everyone but Bama.

The only people I trust are ones like Invol, Baldy and Beecher. Close enough to have an idea of the targets and no outlandish claims of every behind the scenes meeting.

I just don't get why people think that kiffin is a good coach. He went 7-6 here. Failed at USC, failed in the NFL, and won a national championship under saban. Is brian daboll all of the sudden a god of coaching? I mean, winning at alabama should reflect on more of saban's coaching ability, not his coordinators. Kiffin seems to be doing ok at FAU, but compared to Norvell he's not. Most I think would consider Norvell a bad hire, butch 2.0. Why does everyone think kiffin can coach?

He can coach. He can’t run a program.
