I'll say it: if he does turn us down, the Rocky Top thing yesterday was low. This is his wife's and son's university. Pretty disrespectful.

Ziti, man, if you’re right and they don’t announce anything for 11 days+ this place is going to melt. Haha we’re just getting started with the rollercoaster rides then.

I’m still full Gruden until he’s not the coach. And I can’t see them holding that in for weeks. But maybe they can.

On November 17, 2011, news broke that Urban Meyer had been hired at OSU. He came out and denied the report.

On November 28, it was announced that in fact he was going to be the coach at OSU.

I’ve held strong that if we go past Monday with Gruden, it’s not happening. But, the Meyer parallel is the closest thing we have to this type of hire.

I do think gruden turned us down for the final time last night. But.... what’s the saying? “Never say never about nothin”

Not saying I want him, but I am a little surprised he hasn't gotten another college HC job somewhere. I mean the guy won at Rutgers for crying out loud.

I just can't get past the idea that our reps have spent alot of time with this and took a trip down to Tampa without knowing the likely outcome. With JG having a son at the school and in laws nearby, the conversations had taken place about whether he would actually consider the job before all of this.

They won't announce anything until after the last game but that doesn't mean we won't know who the coach top guy is.

IIRC, we knew Strong was the guy in 2012 for a week or so before the regular season ended. He ultimately turned it down, of course, but we knew the inner workings.

Dave Hart isn’t John Currie. Dave wasn’t as secretive and Currie isn’t going to let anyone know what’s going on until the podium. We won’t know anything but pure speculation for 11+ days.

If it's a done deal, you announce it. Need all the recruiting help we can get before signing day just over a month from now.

Urban Meyer was doing TV for ESPN in 2011 and eventhough he signed a contract to be Ohio State's next football coach on November 17, 2011, he wasn't formally announced until the season ended 2 weeks later. And that included a misinformation campaign after a story came out saying he had signed a contract to be the new Ohio State football coach and he as well as Ohio State had to deny it. Then 2 weeks later he's introduced as the new head coach.

Misinformation campaigns like this happen when there is a long time between when an agreement is actually made and it's officially announced.

This new signing day doesn’t mean all that much IMO. I’m not sure how many kids are gonna actually sign in December.

No matter what they aren’t announcing a coach before the season ends. It never happens and it won’t start with UT.

I'm just not really impressed with him,I dont think je is good enough to get all the way to the big game, he may win the east a couple of times but I think that is his ceiling
