'18 GA QB Trevor Lawrence

I could see Fields as a flip. The guys in front of him would help at Georgia

Fromm and Eason will be ahead of Fields when it comes to knowing the playbook and game experience. Same situation in varying degrees he would face at FSU, Clemson, Tennessee, Bama, Florida, and most top power five schools. The big difference at Georgia is that no QB at Georgia is ahead of Fields when it comes to his skill set. He will occupy his own space at Georgia. Eason and Fromm are both pocket passers that aren't particularly mobile.

You all don't run the QB so his legs aren't a factor. He's not starting over those guys. Both of those dudes have played. He's No.3 until someone leaves.

Surely you didn't list Florida. He's the starter there Day 1

Depends on who gets the HC job. They already have Matt Corral committed. If they end up with Kelly, Fields would be perfect.

Fromm looked pretty damn mobile scoring those two TDs and picking up key first downs vs Vols.

...and some of those runs were designed QB runs. Meaning Georgia does in fact have designed QB runs in the playbook. The difference between Fromm and Fields is that Fields runs way faster and is much more elusive. For every run by Fromm this year that hasn't resulted in a TD, Fields would have gained more yards. In a few instances, he would have gained a lot more yards. Fields is 6-foot-3, 220 pounds and has run a laser timed 4.51 40-yard dash. He will be a program changer for whatever team signs him...probably Georgia.

As I said a couple years ago, the thing that kept Lawrence from signing with Tennessee was Butch Jones. They said they wouldn’t play in his offense and while respectful to Jones, basically he wasn’t their favorite. Was told they were huge TN fans and TL was the biggest Manning fan you could find and had a huge Manning poster on his wall. His game is a replica of Manning.

That ‘thing’ that kept Lawrence from Tn has been removed.

But is it too late?

But is it too late?

It ain’t over til it’s over!

Can’t remember what movie that was from, but I thought it wouldn’t fit there.

Now, the main reason I popped in here: Does any of you guys know if there is a dead period between now and Dec. 20th? I’ve had several ask and I VOLUNTEERED to ask around.

Just my opinion? Probably. Had Butch got let go last year I’d predicted TL would flip.

The above wasn’t second hand knowledge or what I read, a convo I had with his dad a couple years ago.

I still don’t think he fits Clemson. Justin Fields is perfect for their offense.

Huge basis of my no-fit theory. Of course TL is legit imo whilst HJ is from that Blair Kiel Indiana line of 5 star QBs.

Good golly, I forgot about Blair Kiel. Has to suck for Johnson to get compared to that. But you're right, he may never take the field with the game on the line at Clemson.

With the right hire TL should be a pretty easy flip...will be one of the priority targets again for sure...all with the right hire.

Dabo has created a very good family atmosphere there, which I know is favorable for the parents. That combined with the success Clemson has had will be difficult to over come.

But I agree, the right hire will definitely make things more interesting.

Do we have some reason to believe that he will flip to us or are we just blindly speculating?

I think it’s due to him and his family being huge UT fans and him idolizing PM. We were his top school until Butch told him he didn’t fit his system and pretty much stopped recruiting him.
