Not looking to freak everyone out. I'm not going to pretend to be an insider or anything but none of this is coming from anyone I hear from.

The rumor is just out there.

If he comes up empty handed, I'll criticize not preparing a good enough contingency plan. I'm gonna grade him on the hire not his effort.

You're outta your mind if you think there are many guys who are made for college football like Jon Gruden. We would instantly become the IT program in college football with him as head coach. Even ahead of Saban and Alabama.

Would you be this sure if “our guy” was Gary Kubiak? Bc they have a very similar resume and coach similar. Just one wasn’t on TV.

Completely agree, but I don’t believe things have gone south with Gruden currently

I think if you read Trey Wallace tweets and listen to his partner on the pod cast, both are giving a vibe Gruden won’t take offer. His partner much more so.

That's fair. I'm talking just for missing on Gruden though. He could definitely draw some criticism for the final hire though.

I really liked what PF's stand-in said today on his show. Said that if Gruden has no interest then he needs to come out and say so, or at least have a rep release a statement. Does nothing good for UT, and handicaps the incoming coach because he won't be Gruden.

None of us do, really. Maybe ATL Vol, and a very few others. The FF is on stupid-overload with "insiders" who have trouble finding a bathroom at the stadium.

Sorting through the BS is a challenge, but it just seems to me that if it made it this far (and it has), then it's not over just because there's no credible news. And there's not.

You don't lose much, if anything, by delaying the announcement until after the Vandy game. If it's Gruden, he'll have enough of his staff in place by then to make up for any ground lost in recruiting by the delay.

I don't see an announcement this week. Maybe next Sunday or Monday, but most likely right after the Vandy game. Let Team 121, and Hoke, have their final moments in the spotlight.

JMO. Go Vols.

Not sure why people say this about Norvell. I live in Memphis and haven't heard any cliches. He is a very good offensive coach.

Heyyyy, are you talking Maryville Broadway or Knoxville Broadway. I grew up off Broadway in Knoxville, and, it was kinda nice. But, yeah, I get your point.

Of course he's coming. It's like clockwork the last month...up, down, up, down, up, down

I'm laughing because earlier when the planes were flying all over Florida, ATL and Knoxville everyone's higher than a crack head who just won the lottery and since Gruden wasn't announced shortly after, and we haven't heard anything confirmed, that must mean he's not coming and we're now coming down off our Grumor meds.

Someone! Anyone! Track a plane!!!


He's coming, guys. The thick smoke and all the nuggets all along the way haven't disappeared. It's still real. Get some sleep or rub one out ffs.

On that note, while AV said he'd be quiet if we got him, I do think he'll let us know pretty quick if he's turned us down.
