Official Jon Gruden Thread 36

In all seriousness. If gruden is not hired, this will be the biggest troll job in history.

Gruden may not be hired but I think this gone on too long for it to be a troll job. If you’re Cindy Gruden, with family nearby and a son at UT, would you not want this shut down if your husband has no interest?

SIAP,

The following was posted on Facebook just now by Stacey Campfield (ex-senator):

"NEWS FLASH!!

Okay I was wrong.

My sources have now told me that UT has been in communication with Jon Gruden. And the talks are very serious about Gruden taking the head coaching job at the University of Tennessee for football.

Supposedly the talks started in earnest about a week ago at Morton's in Nashville when Gruden was in town for the Titans game.

John Curry, Beverly Davenport , Jon Gruden and his agent had a private room dinner to work out numbers and contract variables. The number I am hearing is up to 11 million dollars per year with incentive bonuses in a five-year contract.

The hard sticking point has been pay for Coordinators and became so contentious that Gruden actually got up to leave at one point and was yelling about coming into a "dumpster fire" without real help.

As Gruden turned to leave, Currie tried to get out in front of him and calm him down but somehow got tangled up in the chairs and fell down. Not giving up he grabbed Gruden's ankle and started to plead with him to stay while pulling on his leg just like I'm pulling on yours with this story."

Can we quit talking about amusement parks and reliving high school memories and keep this focused on Gruden?
you must be new around here....idle chit chat feels the void since there ain't much else to do but wait for Currie to walk to the podium and cause most of VolNation to wet their pants !

We now have over 4000 watching periscope live. Crowds are now literally chasing phantom planes. The risk of someone getting hurt, hit by a car is real (a little over exaggeration). Currie taking full responsibility for this hire is saying something. He almost, at this point, has to shut the Gruden rumors down if it's not happening. A public service announcement if you will. He hasn't, why you ask, because we have our man! Gruden Soon!!!

Whoever our next coach is I want one with cockiness and an "edge" to him. I'm sorry but when Kiffin said we were gonna sing Rocky Top all night long after we beat Florida...I loved that. Butch had zero cockiness. It was always "Well Indiana State has a very very good football team and we're gonna have our hands full" etc etc. EVERY TEAM we played was gonna be an enormous challenge for our "YOUNG" football team...and if we beat them an enormous accomplishment. I'd rather hear how we intend to stomp Kentucky and Vanderbilt...how "This is Tennessee man...we're going to Athens to kick azz and take names". You know what I mean. Some confidence and swagger. Fulmer used to give us some of that. With Butch we were always the sad sack losers and we'd be lucky to beat anybody. It would be a feat of great resiliency and a sign of our maturation if we could somehow eke out an SEC win according to him.

Yes. It's time to dare teams to step on the field with us. When they do, knock them on their butts all day long. Just let them know this is not just another college football team, your are playing TENNESSEE today. Gruden can bring those players and that attitude.
