If Mullen was the #1 target.. we would have heard something out of Starkville by now. It's a small town. You can't get in and out of there without everyone knowing.

Also, MS State is paying him 4.5M. It would take a raise to get him to leave, and State would probably be willing to match up to 5-5.5M to keep him. I don't see us shelling out 6M+ for Mullen. He's not worth anywhere near that much. Not by a long shot.

Also noticed that your unhappy faces get very unhappy much faster than your happy faces get very happy. Is that considered a feature, or a bug?

I don't have such a nice Gurdometer, is why I'm asking. Thinking of upgrading.

Really don't see Mullen leaving for reasons you posted but also the team he has coming back next year will be the best he has had since being in Starkville.

So I guess JAV was wrong. Said we should know something for sure within 12-18 hours and that about 18 hours ago.

I thought this, too. My question is in context. He said "we" should know something. I assume he is connected to the program. My first thought, when I read his post, was that "we" meant "the people involved in negotiations" should know Gruden's answer not "Fans or Volnation"

I just can't believe he would do this again if he didn't have interest. That would border on cruel and with his family ties here, I don't know. Seems like he would have shut it down early on and said he's not interested in coaching college but will support us as he always has, etc.

He didn't do it to us last time, it was Hart that screwed us over. That may be why he's being overly cautious this time around.

That's one of the biggest parts of this that makes me believe that he has or is going to take it. With all of this out there, he has to know and I don't think he wants to do that to UT, his wife, nor his son by toying with this.

You don’t really “put down” a small jet if you have issues on take off. That’s a crash 99.9% of the time...you just want to make sure you aren’t ever in that situation.

I guess you could try to Sully it...but yeah, I would guess not a lot of jet traffic there. It’s just not worth pushing the limit.

All of the Pilot planes would be technically capable if I remember the models correctly. Plus, you would likely have some pilots that are fairly experienced with their aircraft. It’s certainly a possibility.

They also have jet-A available, so someone is doing it.

I did all my flying in old taildraggers.1930's-40's vintage. It became an instinct to always know where an unplowed field was, preferably without power lines.

This Grudometer never gets out of the Green Zone . It's convinced UT won't jack up the hire this time .

Heck, Fuente is the bottom rung I'd accept and still donate. Hyams is of the opinion that he's too high of an aim/too much money.

So it's basically 247/Brice/Wallace are right and Currie is fighting to retain the fans and rescue the program or Hyams is right and Currie is aiming low and looking to do this again in 3-4 years. Only this time without a significant portion of the fan base.

This has taken over my life. I'm useless at work, I forgot to turn the dryer on earlier so my clothes are still wet, and I've limited myself to one 30 minute lunch break so I can continue refreshing the #Grumors.
