Besides Dak, names of some current starters making a big difference in the NFL...
Goes through those D coordinators like swiss cheese... they leave for a reason. I think MSU has had 6 D coordinators in the last 10 years...

Fail. Take a lap

He actually has a very good track record with DC's. Geoff Collins was with him for several years before he got hired away by Florida, and then as HC of Temple. Manny Diaz has served as his DC, not once, but twice. Grantham isn't chopped liver either. He can idenfify and hire good DC's, he just hasn't been able to pony up the cash to keep them when bigger programs came calling. That wouldn't be the case at UT.

When it's finally officially announced , schlabach and Farrell, and finebaum, and cowherd, et al........

Whoever runs that account is tone deaf. It's probably run by student interns.

They aren't that stupid. That tweet came out at the same time a certain set of $$ players were being notified of the answer behind scenes. Maybe those dudes are being trolled but that wouldn't be too smart considering they would still need their money for a different coach

How would it feel if you're Currie and you have secured Jon Gruden as your football coach and you can't tell anybody for 3 days?

It’s hard to keep assistants that’s the problem. And Alex Smith has been a 10’year starter. Watch football.

Ha Ha, dude that is one player (hell, Butch has more currently in the NFL making a difference right now) and did you even read what you said? "its hard to keep assistants"? Ridiculous. Other really good programs don't seem to have that problem, but little 'Ole MSU is a hotbed of D Coor and they just can't keep em?

You've given me nothing of substance that equates to Mullen being a top notch home run pick that will take us to the next level.
I shouldn't have asked, no one can give a good enough reason.

Add in he has to go after DC's that are actually willing to move to Starkville. That's tough enough in itself.

To Give ESPN/Jon their moment on MNF? Get good ratings?

I just can’t see that. What’s the big deal about one more MNF game? If Gruden has agreed to be the UT coach, it will be announced with press conference to follow within hours, all on UT’s schedule, IMO. There’s no way Gruden makes a public appearance after its announced and before the presser.

UT automatically draws a top 15-20 recruiting class. And a Mullen hire would virtually guarantee good QB play. He has the least talented team in his division year after year, yet he still has won as many as 9 or 10 games a year, and regularly wins 8. The big difference is that he would no longer have the least talented team in his division should he come to UT.

Okay this is real info--

Weeellll, Sunday is my birthday.
Though Currie should be informed that I am not averse to receiving gifts early, particularly three days early. In fact I prefer it.

My birthday fell on the day of the UGA game. Your present would be much better than mine.

Another post from carterb on VQ (the guy who finally made a post after 16 years)

Gruden understands Lawrence would be a great fit in his system. Plans to run a lot of the same stuff he ran at Tampa Bay. Currie going to let Gruden handle it from here on out. Currie expected to land in Knoxville late tonight.

I think your ability to understand the reasoning is more the problem here. People who are so incendiary and hostile for no reason aren't known for having very good logical reasoning skills.

Mullen made Alex Smith a Heisman finalist at a mid-major school. Then he went to UF and brought in Tebow and Cam, both of whom won the Heisman and national championships. Then he went to MSU and groomed Dak into a phenom and one of the most efficient QBs in the NFL as a rookie.

Remind me — how many Heismans have UT players won... ever? How many natties recently?
