Funny that Fulmer and Blackburn were “horribly wronged” and could BOTH be back on the Hill. :)

Heather said Gruden said No one has contacted him . if i heard right he said he really hasn't talked to anyone from UT.

She possesses the business acumen of an intern. His reference is direct exchange with coaches . Did not say I have not spoken to Tennessee. I also believe he is careful on how communication is actually executed with potential staff. There is a possibility he may be using emissaries

I want the Grude just as bad as anyone but I’m trying to not let myself get sucked in again. This is playing out the same as 2012. Can’t take another let down.

Uh, no. You don't get to get away with that. You've consistently degraded and insulted people who had good reason to believe this was happening. You don't get to come in now and say "I just didn't want to get hurt again."

Get out. No need for the ****. Just get out.

JG becomes our next coach, but we married men know what mama wants mama gets.

Grudmorning!

I wondered when someone would make this connection.
It is more powerful than most think. If JG wants a peaceful household, he will honor his wife's request.

Hey PIO Currie get with it.

*Bills to bench Tyrod Taylor for Nathan Peterman

look how many good qb's Butch ran off.
what would Gruden have done with all that talent.

why can't y'all just say names?
momma always said plain talk is easy understood.

In the utmost respect to everyone involved with this I am not going to say who I've talked with/researched. I think that is more than fair to them. Sorry preacher man, but more read this than just you and I don't trust everyone. Look at Tuesday for an example....

If anyone thinks this doesn't put pressure on John Currie to get his man.... doesn't know how things work....

I have a felling that Beaver may be behind this article

I LOVE IT!!!!!:thud::dance2::dance2:

There is NO WAY he’d say the things he said without legit reason.

There's a different way to interpret "I haven't talked to anybody."

It could mean he hasn't talked publicly to anyone about his interest or his plans.

Not that he hasn't talked to anybody about the job.

That's my rationalization, anyway.

In what role would Blackburn be back? I wonder if Currie would have a problem with that?

Grumors of him being in charge of compliance. Would be a new start after whatever went down at UTC, and it being here would be rehabilitating on the image front. Supposedly working for a sports agent currently.

I am sure the talking has been through his agent. Jon talks to agent, agent talks to Currie, agent talks to agents of other coaches. Therefore Jon's statement is 100% fact at this point.

Putting the pieces together I believe that when Haslam at the last minute went and got Currie, that maybe, as has been alluded, that this was in the works already.

Boosters were supposedly unhappy with the last minute "change" and not getting Blackburn, but, what if the bigger plan was only known by the few and Haslam did what he did and the lower level boosters who still might be big but weren't involved with the master plan were so unhappy because they didn't know the plan......and Blackburn was given something else then....

How does one rationalize "I'm trying to hang on to the job I have. I love Monday night football. Don't plan on leaving."

Isn't it crazy how people can hear the exact same conversation and yet arrive at 2 totally different and opposing view points depending on your preconceived notions, ideas or desires? Some heard it and felt vindication that Gruden was not coming. Others heard it and were celebrating because it meant that he was. And probably a third group heard it and were concerned that perhaps they were wrong. And this third group could be thinking he was coming or sure he wasn't. No real insight here, just making observations on human behavior.

As for me, at first I thought it was ridiculous to think he was coming and even sillier to want him to come. Then I joined this forum in early October and real ALL the posts, educated myself and realized how amazing it would be if we could get him but I didn't think we would. Then as I followed and read more posts from you insiders who were willing to share, I became a believer. And after hearing the Gruden segment on M&M this morning, I have not changed my belief. His response did nothing to make me believe any more or any less that he is coming.

Soon.

Oh I hear you loud and clear Gruden.

If you rub lemon juice over Jon's response to Mike Golic this morning, here's what OTHER bits are revealed:

"Well you know what Mike, I haven't talked to anybody (publicly), and all I really have in my life is, is my family (a lot of whom live around Knoxville) and football (which I heard they play in Knoxville). That's about it. And uh...I'm real sensitive to the coaches that are out there coaching (like interim coach Brady Hoke and the other nine guys with him who already seriously doubt they'll have a job two weeks from now), so I don't speculate. I just love football. I'm trying to hang on to the job I have (for a couple more weeks). I'm very fortunate to be with the people I'm, I'm with, uhhh (let me get this piece of paper so I can read the next part verbatim), I don't know what's gonna happen in the future (so that part I just said about hanging onto my current job, take that with a huge grain of salt, know what I mean?), I just know this: I'm gonna continue to give my best effort to the game (probably in Knoxville), stay prepared (because we haven't yet nailed down which day I'll be announced as the new head coach), and, uhh, I love Monday Night Football (it has been berry, berry good to me). Don't plan on leaving (as far as you know), but--as you know, in life you never say never to nothin' (unless it's making a major announcement at 7:00 am in the middle of the week; definitely saying never to that)."

Interesting, eh?

Best post ever and couldn't have come at a better time. My avatar thanks you.

I think Currie may be an evil genius, Butch wanted vfls to come kiss his ass and hang around the recruits. Curries putting people that care about Tennessee, love the program, love the state, and know what it means to "Give their all for Tennessee " in positions of importance. Bringing Fulmer back, Peyton on committee, Gruden to the hill, Tee OC, Blackburn etc
