Ok this is my opinion: no need to rush an announcement. Allow Florida to announce first so we can counter with a bigger bang and one up them. Also this gives Gruden time to gather his assistants and also allow those assistants the opportunity to focus on finishing their seasons out without being distracted. It seems Florida will be announcing soon(tomorrow possibly) so we may not have to wait to much longer. But the longer this goes on the more hack journalist can report he’s not coming and allow misinformation to grow. Which will make this an even bigger story when it happens. We’ll be the story of the year in cfb.

You were the one child left behind. Your blood type isn't "A", "B", or even "O". It's just negative. You had a imaginary friend but he got tired of you shat and moved to Canada when you were 12.

I'll give first

2018: 7-6 to 9-3 holds together a top 15 class
2019: 8-4 to 10-2 and top 5 class
2020 9-3 to sky is the limit with another top 5 class


Just gauging what the expectations are from the fan base if he is hired. Also curious what your reaction would be if we were to go 8-4 or 7-5 in those three seasons.

I have always maintained I would love to have Gruden on the hill but also realize no one has a magic wand to fix all the problems in our program. As much as I would love to see him I do not view it as the end of the world if it doesn't happen there are several names I would be ALMOST as happy with.

8-4 or 9-3 : Agree top 15 class (this class)
9-3 to 11-2 : Top 5 class
10-3 + : Top 5 class

Think there are several other coaches that could probably replicate the record, and maybe some others that could produce the short-term recruiting results. I worry that Gruden may be the only one who could turn both this quickly with a margin for error. I think there are a couple of others who might could do it if everything aligned correctly. I just like margins for error.

I want the Grude just as bad as anyone but I’m trying to not let myself get sucked in again. This is playing out the same as 2012. Can’t take another let down.
